  Probably a stupid question, but do these Amiibo things do anything, or are they just collectables?

    They unlock content in certain Nintendo games, but yeah, most people get them as collectibles.

      After posting, I decided to have a look for myself. It doesn't seem like all of them work in every game that is activated for Amiibos. It would be pretty cool if it was like Pokemon and as you collected the toy, it would appear in game.

        Well, there's an amiibo figure for every playable character in Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.

        It's not pokemon, but it's close enough.
