Such a shame about the 100mbit ethernet port

    • +1

What are you going to do with gigabit speeds into or out of such a tiny processor?

      • +1

Plenty. I transfer close to 100GB to my RPi 2 and then have it upload to the internet.

There is an article around about testing USB2 to Ethernet on the RPi3 and it reached about 250Mbps. Some improvement, but clearly not Gigabit. If they had included one then it wouldn't have been much faster than this because the limitation is on the internal bridge.

    • +3

X265 hw decode would have been nicer

      • +1

        true that.
I just paid £3 for my 2 hardware decoder licenses.
I don't even know what files use WVC1…..

    • +1

You like I could try an Odroid C2 . I couldn't recommend it though . The rpi wins everywhere except on hardware specs .

    • -3

you have a 1 Gigabit internet connection or something?

      • +4

implying that all network traffic is destined for, or originates from, the internet.

  • +1

WOW great price OP, I paid AU$75 shipped for my RPi3 only

    • +1

      When?
I ordered Pi3, power adapter, hdmi cable and case for $80 from element 14 a couple of weeks ago.

      • Day 1 from Pimoroni…whoops scratch that my $75 included a case too.

        • Case isn't really the core value..

        • @Stonee: But we added it anyway..

        • @Stonee:
You added it in for an extra $7.50* Exchange rate isn't anywhere near US$0.78 which you are implying with the $7

Similarly, this entire deal is going to cost most Australians $73-$74 because BUYING USD is at $0.75, SELLING at $0.79 and the median $0.77

          http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=AUD&to=USD&view=1W

RS Online have similar price for just RPI3
          http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontroller-deve…
Stocked locally and free tracked shipping.

        • @Blitzfx: Thanks for correcting, i got the exchange via EX app, it shows 7.005, so i left the 0.005. i am renewing the post now.

        • @Blitzfx: Hi i check the exchange again from ex APP, the exact price should be Aus $7.07
Case is worth US$10 (AUS $12.86 ), But we are selling in at US$5.5 and free shipping. it should be a good deal.

about the product you provide, it is not include this one either:
Foca Pro: USB To Serial UART Converter With XBee Interface Socket
          https://www.itead.cc/foca-pro.html
this one is with the core value.

        • @Stonee: BTW mine came with the Pimoroni case, it's actually why I bought from there.

No offence intended, but I'm not a fan of the official RPi case that you guys are "including" in this deal. I know it's not your case, I'm just clarifying why I bought from Pimoroni

        • @MJM: No offense taken, as you know, ITEAD is having a long term partnership with RPI rep, so we always have enough stocking.
Also, we don't just sell popular products like Raspberry Pi , we have our own electronic development team and production line, so we also have self developed products lunching every month!

        • @Stonee: you added at a cost. You should be clear as your comment is misleasing.

        • @cch24: Hi thank you, as i said, the case is worth US$10 and we are selling at cost US$5.5 together with the kit US$54.5 and free shipping.

        • +1

          @Stonee:

Yes, the starter pack is really good value with everything bundled together.
If I didn't already have a RP3, I would've bought this since you can use the extras for other things as well.

I wish this was available last month :P

  • +3

I just had to give it a plus for the inclusion of the " non-magnetic copper' plugs on the HDMI cable :-p

  • +1

Good price! Is $60+ here for just the pi from elment14

  • +16

These US$35 computers get more expensive every time!

  • +1

Awesome, bought. Another item I've said a few times 'next time they're on sale I'll grab one', and now here we are.

Thanks, the free postage really sold the deal.

    • @Stonee: Just PMd you with my order number, hopefully can still add a case. Thanks!

      • Please check your account :) )

  • +3

still waiting for my IBM raspberry pi :)

    • they'd be shipped by now i had mine pretty quick

      • I just got mine too =) where's a good place to get accessories like cases etc for it?

        • just got mine from work. but you can pick them up cheap on ebay. there is a store in brisbane that sells them as well

    • +3

I received an update on Saturday from them… :(

"Thank you for registering for the opportunity to attain a Raspberry Pi via our promotion. Due to overwhelming demand, we could not accommodate you in our promotion to the first 1500 registrants."

      • IBM has this problem, but ITEAD has 2000 in stock. :)

        • +4

ITEAD is charging for them where IBM didn't…

      • Same email.

    • I got an update from IBM this week that I will not get it since I did not make the 1500 cut.

    • This is the last email I received from them in March…
Congratulations on being among the first to register for a brand new Raspberry Pi 3 to use with your free Watson IoT Platform trial! In order to accelerate the time it takes to begin exploring the cognitive world of Watson IoT, we are including a microSD card AND the latest Raspberry Pi (the Pi 3) at no cost to you. You will be receiving them at your registered business address over the next few weeks.

      • -2

LOL, Should have wait and order from ITEAD, we have long term partnership with RPI rep.

        • You know it was free from IBM, right?

      • Got the same email but no sign of it yet

        • +1

          Got mine delivered today :)

        • @deepansh:

          holding out hope then :)

        • +1

          @deepansh:

          mine turned up today
definitely the best freebie I can remember scoring

        • @SBOB: haha same

  • +3

Do you have a case to match Rep?

    • Agreed - love a case to compliment the deal…

      • a case to compliment

        "What a lovely case!"
        How's that?

    • D'oH! Replied to the wrong comment

    • Yes, case please Rep.

    • A friend of my husband's made a Pi case out of Lego. I thought that was cool :)

    • +1

YES, RENEWED THE DEAL, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK :)

    • Thanks - purchased. Do you have an appro delivery timeframe? I'm moving house in 5 weeks.

      • +1

You should get the kit within 2 weeks:)

  • +2

I'm curious what are you guys using your pi for? I'm planning to build a garage door sensor to tweet me if it's been open for more than two minutes.

    • WiFi Motion Camera that takes photos and emails alerts. It is probably a lot (better) easier to buy an off the shelf one, but I am hoping to customise one for my needs.

    • +2

You can do that with an arduino + wifi module. dont need a RP3. really overkill.
going to use mine as an autopilot with image tracking

    • Am looking at doing this, albeit with a Pi1

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMhTMgDHGaM

ill just add it to the list of other sheet i say ill get to one day…

      • That's awesome.

      • Thanks Rep :) I'm actually using an old pi model A but i'll make sure to bookmark your site for future projects.

        • My pleasure:)

  • +2

Instead of 300mm 4 Color Dupont Wire Pack(20pcs) and USB Serial to TTL(Foca Pro),a clear case with heat sinks would have been an ideal deal.

    • YES, RENEWED THE DEAL, JUST TAKE A LOOK :)

  • +1

    where to apply the code?

    • +1

go to the shopping cart, right below the shopping cart, there is a spot DISCOUNT CODES, past code ITEAD5fs and you can get the discount :)

      • Thanks

      • PM sent for case..

        • Creating order, will sent you in 5 mins

  • Does this really come with 10.75M HDMI cable? That is great value.

    • +1

      You wish, 1x0.75

    • Yes, it's 0.75 M, it is enough for the starter kit.:)

  • Wish you have cases tho :(

    • …..in the deal.
They do have a suitable white case in their product list.

    • +1

Just added, please renew the deal:)

  • Rep I forgot to add the case to my order. Can you sort this out for me? I've PM'd you the order number

    • SURE DO, pm your order number:)

  • Any chance you have Pi Zero stock?

    • +1

It's price is much lower than it's cost, so RSP stopped producing it.

      • I don't believe so: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/game-boy-zero/

Raspberry Pi Zero production is restarting in Wales next Monday [18th April, yesterday] after a hiatus to allow us to focus on Raspberry Pi 3 (a million units built and counting). We have placed 250ku of new orders, and are aiming to produce at least 50ku/month for the rest of this year. Distribution will continue to be via Pimoroni, Pi Hut, Adafruit and Micro Center for now.

To thank you for your patience, we’ve taken advantage of the hiatus to add a (much requested) new feature. I’ll leave you all to guess what it is (it’s not WiFi).

        • +1

I respect that. my version of saying is from their production partner. you can choose either version to believe. :)

  • +2

I'm not really a big fan of raspberries. Do you have any blueberry pies instead?

  • Website is timing out badly

    • It works well from my side.. you can refresh it..

      • Thanks, it's working now.

  • +1

I don't want the 20x cables and SD card, what if I just want the Hdmi, case, heatsink and the pi itself? How much would that work out?

    • pm ME please and i will work out a deal for you

  • Sent a PM re adding case to order. Thanks

  • I don't need the extra stuff in the kit, so any chance of a deal on just the Raspberry Pi 3 on its own?
