Looks like too late for Adelaide :-(

  • +3

Good price if you can get it, just don't order online. The last three times I ordered clearance stock online, stock was sold out in store after I ordered (once over a week after my order, it took that long to pick). It could just be the Canberra store that is that bad, but just a warning in any case.

  • Only in-store for St Marys and Penrith. :( looks like in-store everywhere.

Anybody want to buy the quick charger with 4x AA around that way and I'll buy it off you for $20? $25?

The one time I am early for a sale on Eneloop and I'm SOL.

    • +2

If they tell me to go pickup soon I can check for you.

    • +2

Got pickup confirmation. I'll let you know if I pick one up.

      • You're a champ. Thanks a lot. Really appreciate it.

        • No chargers left in Penrith.

        • @TheOneWhoKnocks:
Maybe spaghettiman bought the last ones? :p

Cheers for the heads up. Worst case I'll call St Marys store and ask if they have and if they can hold it until tonight.

        • +2

@iBuzz7S: Hey man, no chargers left at St. Marys. Shelves were already empty when I got there, except for maybe 5 packs of AAs on the floor. I saw around 10-20 C&C orders in the basket for eneloops. Sorry~

        • @spaghettiman:
The lady I spoke with said there was 3 remaining. :(

          Appreciate the effort. Thanks. :)

        • @iBuzz7S: Crap I should have asked, but there were stickers on the shelf saying item unavailable so I assumed that was it. I only bought a pack of eneloops and I had to drive 32 km (there and back) for it LOL…

  • +2

Around 40 of the 8 combo packs plus 4 smart charger packs left at Albion Park NSW store. A few of the AAA 4 packs there too.

  • +2

    Nice one op :)

  • +3

    Deal of the month, lol.

bundamba has a few packs on click and collect.

a got two of these 8 pack aa and aaa combos and the aa quick charger.

    • Got the batteries but no chargers left.

  • Only heaps of 4 pack AAA left at Williams landing 3027

  • +4

Already got confirmation for my click and collect!

    • +2

      Me too!

    • Also got the email to say ready for collection……
Then ccancelled due to no stock.

  • Just ordered one 8 pack online… judging by the comments above, I don't think my order will be fulfilled

  • Only 2 pack Aaa at chullora

    • Unable to click and collect, so probably not going to be able to get hold of it.

  • +4

Order fulfilled and ready to collect at Wagga (seems like they have everything available, and I can collect bc I'm on holidays and travelling through :) )

    • Im in the same boat as you but still waiting on mine to be fulfilled :(

      Edit: Ready for collection!

    • My local store (Canberra) was out so I opted on buying from Wagga Wagga and getting them to deliver. For 4x 8-pack they charged $12.95 delivery, which I think is pretty reasonable given the price.

      Keep that in mind guys!

  • Just picked up my order. Also noted that even though online said I got last one in stock there was still 4 on the shelf of the charger pack. So not sure their stock levels are 100% correct.

  • Northlakes, Qld had about 7 or 8 of the quick chargers left at 9:20 am. I bought two, got dicked around a fair bit at the checkout as the prices weren't in the system.

  • +2

    Ordered, thanks OP!

  • Just went to Richlands, they only have the 4 pack AAs left. About 8 when I left.

  • so…. a master's firesale to precede this Eneloops clearance sale?

  • Carrum Downs VIC has heaps of batteries no chargers left though

  • Hawthorn East only has Sanyo branded 2xAAA, there's about 15 packs left

    • still about 4 packs left, get in quick!

  • +4

    Curse of the Eneloop retailers?

  • O_O

  • Richlands has about 8 packs of AA on shelf but managed to score 2 packs of the 8 pack combos. Were behind front counter not on shelf. Had to ask at front counter. 1 left when I left, 2 more had been reserved for an online order.

  • Whats with poor performing retailers selling cheap eneloops?

    • It's a sign they are about to go under

    • Posting eneloop deals on ozbargain brings lots of traffic to there online and brick and mortar stores in hope that people will purchase extra items.

  • Craigieburn, Vic Still have Stock!!!

    • -2

There's no Masters at Craigieburn!!! Maybe what you mean is the Roxburgh Park one!

      • -3

What's with the neg? Can't accept your mistake?

  • No stock at Adelaide airport.

  • heh greedy basterds! Looks like some people bought whatever stock was available.

  • Not available to ship to Tasmania. This makes me a sad and unworthy ozbarginer.

  • cries Damn it, I was just at Richlands this morning before heading to work to pick up some orders. Should have known earlier and went and brought some. Now they probably be sold out by the time I check that place after work! grrr!

  • Ozbargain professionals really like Eneloop batteries

  • thanks - picked up 2 packs from Gosford

  • Grabbed 5 8-packs at Everton Park. About 10 packs left and some 2 pack AAA s too.

  • i am planning to buy eneloop for our camaraderie..

but apart from the wall clock, i can't think of any other use..
    any suggestion?

    • any item that takes AA and AAA batteries

  • No eneloop pros. I need some higher voltage batteries, already have plenty of the 1.2v eneloops.

    • +6

Pros are the same voltage just higher in capacity.

      • Bugger. I thought there were 1.5v cells available?

  • +2

Is this the best price they have ever been? That 8 pack looks good!

Got 2 8 packs, with $1 off after sign up!

  • +2

Just picked up a couple of combo packs at Landsdale WA, although the website shows quick charger packs available there are none left. There are still a few of the other packs but I'd be quick

  • How long would they last unopened?

    • They will last a lifetime if you never open them.

      • Really? I thought even in the packet they would still degrade, similar to non-rechargeable batteries that have a 'used by' date.

  • none of the 4+4 combo packs left near my local store =(

  • +1 pity no masters here in tas

    • +5

If you think about it, the rest of the country will be playing catch-up to you down there. ;p

  • Just picked up and smart charger (they had a box of them) and an 8 pack of the batteries (4 AA and 4 AAA) don't know how many left, from Oakleigh South VIC store. They were not on the shelf had to ask the service desk.

    • I've ordered a pack each of 4AA and 4AAA click & collect, can only pick up later tonight. Hopefully there will be a smart charger left?

Edit: Rang the Oakleigh South store- all gone only some AA & AAA batteries left. Guy on the phone said news went out this morning and everyone went berserk so well ozbargained lol! Also said there shouldn't be any combo packs and chargers left in VIC.

      • That was quick, they literary had a box of the smart chargers. Must be for online sales. The manufactured date on the 8 pack of batteries is late 2014 if that matters?

        • Or perhaps the staff got on to it after your purchase!

I'm going to pick up my set today (still thinking why did I buy??), keen to see if it's also 2014.

  • Current wait time on the phone is 8-11 minutes. St Marys store has been busy for over 17 minutes.

If all this is for the batteries, that is hilarious. It's crazy how popular these batteries and chargers are.

    • +2

It is, I was just in store and every call they were getting were about these batteries. The staff were baffled about how much instore and phone traffic they were getting for "this one product".

      • Apparently there is something wrong with the phone lines because the IT person is looking into it.

  • 2 questions: 1) How long does a charge normally last compared to your usual energizer? 2) Why on earth do you people need so many batteries when most things these days have internal batteries anyway?

      1. energizer (dry cell)? last longer.
      2. obsession, just like Chromecast
      • By a lot or by a little? Say compared to your cheapie bunnings battery? I mostly use AA's for remotes, so I'd generally prefer longevity for convenience. But on the other hand, my impulse buy needs to be satiated.

        • google is your best friend for comparison info,
and there is made in japan Eneloop obsession, all another ball game :)

  • Okay Chullora store should have 14 quick chargers remainingjust got off the phone from head office (?).

    • I didn't see any at 9am this morning, not sure where they were? I only saw packs of 2x AAA, please let me know if you actually find them!

      • lol 9am. Did you open the store or something? :p

I'm not going there, sorry. A little too far out of my way. The lady I spoke with on the phone said they had 14 chargers in stock. That was around 11am

. Unless she was talking about batteries only? Because she did ask me twice about which type of batteries I wanted when I said it's the charger I am interested in.

        • Dropped by on the way to work … they open at 6am or something =D

No worries, I was wondering how I missed 14 quick chargers on a shelf. I did see packs of the 2xAAA but that was it that I could see for eneloops.

  • My C&C refunded. All gone from WA according to the store rep.

Well didn't need another 80 batteries. But it was a nice to have. My first Eneloop fail happened this week as well.

Cannot recover the cells anymore the IR is too high. 2x 2nd gen Eneloop AAA I think I may of cooked them by charging them with too low charge on my Maha. The Maha seems to have an issue determining cut off if the charge rate is too low, from what I read. Also I may of drained them too far as well :( battery noob. Now I follow the IEC standard and use the Eneloop smart charger.

Well 2 years of use out of it twice a week for 1.5 years approx 160 times recharged. Well short of the cycles. But definitely got my return back from them.

    • Contact company and complain
      Receive 80 free batteries!

    • What is the internal resistance measurement? What voltage was charging terminated? What device where you using them in when they where drained?

      • 2.2? Volts is the IR that was measure. Using a Maha.

I charged them using the Maha using 200ma charge rate and left them all day. It was hot to touch when I returned about 13 hours later :(

Discharged using a LED light for a about 5 or so days. May of brought it too low as well.

Battery noob :( back then. The other cell survive I think due to it have room to cool down as it was in a three batteries in four slots. I always leave a spot open for better ventilation. Also batteries are numbered and cycled through.

        • wow 2.2 volts lol I often get my AA up to about 1.5 max i have seen was new enenloops at 1.57 volts. Internal resistance is different to voltage but that shouldn't matter to much with NIMH the IR should be more of test of wear and tear and age.

Did the cells have residue on them? It may have vented?

If the cell is dead it will not hold charge.

do you still use the charger now?

        • You need to charge at at least 500Ma for the delta voltage drop to be detected.
          @ aussieprepper
Most batteries will briefly show a higher "ghost" voltage as soon as you take them off the charger but they will quickly fall back to their true 1.25v due to the NiMh chemistry.

        • @King Tightarse: yea i know they settle a little mine are always higher then 1.25 volts usually up in the 1.37-.1.40 once settled.

        • @aussieprepper:
Its true that they will hold briefly a higher voltage after charging but that drops away v quickly. See the graphs here - scroll down. http://www.cobasys.com/pdf/tutorial/InsideNimhBattery/inside…
They relax back to their nominal 1.25 and remain there for most of there discharge cycle, also put a small load on them to see the actual output voltage.
EDIT - Another possibility; your meter could be out a bit. A +0.15v calibration error would read 1.40v at 1.25v. Quite possible, depending on what you are testing them on.

        • @King Tightarse:

Yeps charged to low rate. Burnt them out.

        • @King Tightarse: i just tested some cells now they are at about 1.34 volts after not being charged in months! lowest cell was 1.28 volts they are worn out soshine cells. my eneloop pros a few at 1.35 volts! my multi-meter is fine tested with usual uni-t and fluke multi-meters i always charge lithium cells and i build custom lights so i know the meters are correct.

        • @aussieprepper:
Hmmm then I have no idea!
The chemistry should dictate 1.25v for most of the discharge cycle of the battery.
This is true for all NiMh batteries.
EDIT: Wait, your are getting this from another brand also?
Something is weird. Try them under a small load.

        • @King Tightarse: maybe with load at a certain percentage it drops the voltage down to 1.25 volts but it would be impossible for every single battery to be at 1.25 volts I am not sure what tolerance is with NiHM cells but even lithium cells give different readings between different makes and branded cells.

        • @King Tightarse: random pick frim HKJs list but even at 10amp load 1.25 is minimum voltage
          http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Fujitsu%20AA%20HR-…

        • @aussieprepper:
1.25 is the average voltage for most of the discharge cycle.
It will drop lower right at the end and flare higher straight off the charger but will put out 1.25 for most of the discharge cycle. See here: http://www.mpoweruk.com/nimh.htm
It is 1.25 volts due to the battery chemistry, its actually printed on those batteries you linked.

  • Order 2x combo pack from Joondalup. Hopefully there is still actual stock there and their system isn't just lagging..

    • +2

Always best to go in, by the time they pick it, if you can't make it I'd ring them and ask them to pick it straight away

      • Sadly Joondalup is a bit of a drive for me and I have no other reason to head there today, luckily I have the day off though but will see. I only really wanted some more AAA, and the combo pack was the best value.

If they end up being sold out, then so be it I guess! Thanks for the suggestion though.

        • Thats the store I ordered from. :(

        • +2

          @jlogic:
Just got back from Joondalup - none of their "in stock" items to be seen BUT lots of AAA 4 packs and 2 packes, Sanyo made in Japan ones. They were happy to give me the discounted price of $10 for 4 packs :)

        • @DJ:

Lol can you help me out? If so would want 20 of each AA and AAA.

          Kids toys… Arghhhhh
