  • wow, previously these beer of the month deals were great, but this month its gone backwards! TEDs is in my opinion the most horrendous and vile beer known to man, and to price it $2 more than usual is an insult!

cant you get a carton of teds for less than 35 anyway?

    disappointed BWS!

You clearly have no idea sir, Teddy's is the beer of kings.

    • +2

VB IS the most horrendous and vile beer known to man!

      • +1

but the have the best commecials…

  • +1

sigh .. inflation and interest rates must be hurting BWS too :P … $2 more than the usual ! :(
for $2 still not too bad

    • Nah, it was $12 last month too :(

  • -1

What? I actually like TED. It's good.

  • +2

    Tooheys wtf

    what's exotic about that?

  • +2

the idea was that they introduced the more boutique beers for $10 so you can try

if you don't like it you're out $10… big deal

selling local crappy swill for MORE than the case price is just silly

what next? $12 for a six pack of VB??? and you still need to print out the coupon???

    what a worthless store

  • +2

This aint a good deal whatsoever.

  • +2

This is about the average price for a TED sixpack from decent bottleshops. It's $12 too much in my opinion

So not a good deal whether you like TED or not.

  • Ridiculous!!!

  • +1

worst deal ever. in fact it's not a deal. it's a way to clear old stock!

    • Agree and it's $2 more than usual.

  • +1

Extra Dry on sale at Dan Murphy's or First Choice is often $40 or less.

    • and I bet if you divide that by 4 you wont get that as the 6pack price

  • not as good as their past deals… pass

  • pretty disappointing deal this month :(

  • I've been a big fan of previous beer of the month deals but yea ,this is not even a good deal . Unless you normally buy your beer by the six pack and your a fan of TEDS .

  • Not a Bargain

  • This is the most chemical-infested beer ever. Not a good deal.

    • -1

Any evidence to substantiate that claim?

    • -1

      Interesting you mentioned this.

Traditionally, beer bottles were brown to protect the beer from sunlight as it would 'go off'.
(http://www.herveybayhomebrew.com/art5.pdf - lots of other sources too, but this is a comprehensive one).

So the trendy clear glass bottles that Tooheys use may look nice, but to stop it from going off they need more chemicals and preservatives.

Any beer that's in a clear bottle I'll pretty much steer clear from personally.

Get out of town mate, apart from at the pub in the punters hand, how often is a stubby exposed to harmful UV from our friendly sun?

  • No deal, was hoping some overseas beer not TED :(

  • Did you know that Byron Bay Lager Beer is now packaged in Green PLASTIC Bottles with non-twisttop screw tops?

    http://www.smh.com.au/executive-style/culture/brewery-gives-…

They are currently on a $50-a-case special at Gosford "Little Bottler" bottle store, just below the Gosford Hungry Jacks (NSW, Postcode: 2250)

I remember Carlton Cold were the first ones on plastic bottles in 1995, and looked like you should take them to the gym!!! I also believe Sub-Zero (remember them??) trialled plastic bottles at one stage.

Has anyone seen the Crown Lager in aluminium bottles? I haven't, but apparently according to the above article, it exists!?!

    • Isn't that in Wyoming?

      • No, not the Wyoming site.

The one I am talking about is next to Gosford Racecourse, at the "No-Name" petrol station and below the Hungry Jacks.

    • I've seen them quite often now. My local bar has them as a permanent special ($4) and there was a sporting event I went to not long ago (what it was escapes me right now), but they had the aluminium 'bottles'. I tried one for novelties sake, but if I wanted to drink an average larger I'd drink fosters.

TED platinum's are one of the nicest mass produced beers from the big 2, but the standard TED's are a little average. I think standard 6 pack price is around the $13-$14 mark from pretty much all put the stingiest of bottleshops, so this months BOTM voucher is not really worth the paper you print it out on. :(

Bring back the Sapporo or Kirrin for $12 (the $10 was better though). Peroni offered good value as well.

  • No deal. Why wouldn't they stick to the $10 price point, it worked so well. There are some beers worth $12 but not Extra Dry

    • agree with this

  • so much Tooheys love

  • Gonna neg this as well. Selling TEDs in the BOTM promo is just silly. Add to that the price is average, this is no deal.

  • What a shithouse deal, I signed up to Ozbargain specifically to neg this but it won't let me for 30 days.

    • +2

      Here, I voted for you

    • i'll neg it for you, for the reasons mentioned above.

  • "Normally $15-17"… . Bullshit!…. Such a poor attempt at a "bargain" is nothing but an embarrassment to the website and OP.

  • i was hoping for some imported beer like tiger, chang or singha. or even corona. not this crap!

  • Not a deal at all.
