Use your work or uni email and password to sign in. I don't have hotmail account, I just signed in.
But them MS will have access to my work email if I enter the password of the website
isn't your work email with Hotmail or MS?
Nope. It's on a Secure government server
@easternculture:
Then you wouldn't be able to sign in anyway. This is if your work/uni uses Office 365.@easternculture: For me I don't even enter the password, I just fill in email address and click on sign in.
@easternculture: Secure / Government?
:)@Jimmy007:
Yeah this is only for companies that have migrated their mail server to "the cloud", and you won't need to put your password in aswell to single sign on (SSO), but that's only your company have linked their active directory or user management system with it also. E.g. LaTrobe and Monash are on this.@easternculture: 00EC.
no, you make a new account with office365, with your work email.
well that's what I did for my uni account - no problems didnt need to share student email or number or password.
Your admin has turned off Office installs. Contact your admin for more information about how to get Office in your organization.
Boooo admin!
Use your work or college/Uni email address to sign up
That's lovely.
Why did you link to the SIGN IN page?
Updated it in post, Just sign in :)
Lovely.
However I don't have an account. So I cannot sign in.
probably just checks for a non free domain….. you will see more companies doing free give always the big rage now is to become indentity provider eg like sign in with your Facebook or google account so they build better profiles. Microsoft is also after that market so one day you will be signing in and authentications to other services through your Microsoft live account. I'd me more worried about Google and Facebook mining your activities they need to make money via adds Microsoft has other sources of revenue and just wants you to use more for their products….. Google and Facebook want you to use more of thousands of other people's products.
it's like Google and android as a mining vehicle to make money vs iPhone Apple has other sources of revenue than adds.
This has been around for a while now and poated here previously. Good for those who don't know about it.
All of my old Uni accounts work with it. Managed to load Office 2016 onto every computer in the house for free.
yeap. has been around for a while. enjoying my Microsoft office 2016 for free.
for 1 year anyway until it's renewal time.
I wonder for how long. My alumni email works
Been about 4 years now and still going.
You mean even after you graduate for four years! Too good to be true.
@louisprice: They migrated their entire email system over to 365 last year and since they haven't deactivated my account yet…
Do you install Office 2016 OR Office 365 for free?
If it's Office 365, then you can just log into to get it anywhere, not only just your house PC.
I'm still using Office 2010 Pro, I'm debating on getting 2016. if I can get multiple 2016 on all my PCs, then I dont have interface confusion.
I only have one eligible email now…Logged into the website that is Office 365 and had the option of installing the latest version of Office. For some people they just have the option of using Office Online.
Sorry to bust your bubble but this isn't a deal. If you have an O365 subscription (even if that's with work/school) you can download Office onto multiple computers. This is just the standard procedure to download O365, it is NOT a deal to get something for free.
It's also only if your administrator has enabled it, and if they don't have the lowest level of Office365 which doesn't include downloadable products.
This is a targeted offer for staff who's organisations are on office 365.
No , this is targeted for people to move away from an install based software to a subscription based one. its the way of the future.
No it isnt. It is NOT open for everyone to obtain this. It is basically the same option as the $15 for Enterprise Ageement Staff except the window is even smaller and only for those organisations who have been migrating towards the Cloud Office. This is by definition - targeted only for those who fit those categories.
I clicked the link and it's just a sign-in page - it doesn't tell me what the deal is.
Could somebody please clarify whether it gives you some software that you own forever, like old versions of Office, or if it's just a time-limited free subscription, after which you have to start paying (yearly or whatever) if you want to continue using it?
(I'm behind the times, still using Office 2003. At least I "own" it.)
I got negged above for asking the exact same thing. When I asked for more information, that post got negged too.
Just saw that there is extra info in the other negged posts right up the top. Click to expand each of those and read what's been disclosed.
Seems this is not a deal unless you ALREADY have a Office 365 account.
In which case, since you already have it, you don't need it anyway.
Question, my office has expired at my home computer. Can i install it there???
Yes you can :)
Merged from (WA ONLY) Microsoft Office 365 Proplus - Free for All Students in The Public School System in WA
The Department of Education in WA has free access for all students in registered in a WA public school, both primary and secondary, to Office 365 ProPlus. This software can be downloaded and installed on up to five devices. The link provided is to the download and installation guide. Your child has a login to the Portal and the login is the same format as a DOE login.
The password is accessible by the school teacher.
Enjoy!
So we just ask the school for the password or the student should already have one?
Depends on how savvy the kids are. My year 3-6 have their passwords and login on a daily basis. The younger ones probably won't do so well ;)
Thanks.
Get 'em hooked young. Same model as the drug dealers - first hit is free.
Schools should be using libre office. I wonder what MS is paying them for this?
Watch them use Office for 13 years (during school) and when they fished school, they will be forced to sign up. The kid will be used to using Office and most likely will turn into a paying customer.
I believe the Educational Office 365 suite also comes with 1TB of Cloud Storage as well as access to the online apps, onedrive and a few other neat things.
That's a very cynical view and I don't think you realise how much bigger this is than just Office products. In two institutions i know (one university, one employer) MS also operates their network and cloud environment, each nodes OS, remote server and virtualization compatibility and the support team (usually an external consulting company) has MS employers.
It is most likely cheaper to use MS Office because it works seamlessly with the software that's already on the computers, the teachers and other students are familiar with the product, their support team are trained to fix MS errors and, dare I say, office365 is a far more superior product to 'Libre Office'.
The Department of Education would be paying around $8\head\month for the mailboxes and the Office licenses. Education Office 365 Exchange Only licenses are free, on the other hand.
More likely than not by providing at a reduced rate to schools, nonprofits, etc., Microsoft get to use it as a nice little tax writeoff.
On the other hand, Libreoffice is a prig of a piece of software I have found and only ever useful for absolute basics - I would sooner use Office Online or even Google Docs if I had a choice between them and it.
You do know everyone with a .edu.au domain gets a free ProPlus subscription

I'm using my TAFE email for this offer since it started. I get everything, I don't understand what this offer is.
