Any chance of the Switch coming on sale ?

    • Sorry, cant say at this stage.

    • Can we get switches from US?
I believe they don't have any frequency lock.

      • how much price difference you will get and who will cover warranty?

        • US-8-150W inc shipping:
          $305 AUD - from US
$384.27 - the best price I can find here

          Do you have better deal?

          So… About $80 difference.
Warranty - yes, will have to send it back.

        • +1

@SickDmith: they are not even available yet in Australia, not sure how and where you are getting these prices from.

        • @myithub:
          ubnt.com - buy - find a distributor - AusNz

It means local resellers are faking stock availability.

These Ubiquiti deals are becoming ubiquitous.

  • How's about the AC Pro?!

  • I would suggest not getting these shipped to any Aus Post Parcel lockers.

    • Why's that?

      • Different courier and not auspost?

      • I ordered the pro from the other deal. They couldn't make sense of the parcel locker shipping address so they just left off all the parcel locker stuff and sent it to the shopping centre the lockers are located yet.

Didn't think to ring me or email etc. Hopefully the post office will let me collect it without the "sorry we missed you card" and no ID that lists the shopping centre as my address.

So far the only responses to my emails are:
        - you addressed it wrong (nope)
        - it's ready to collect (durrrr, but I have no documentation to say I can collect)

Not sure why you are bothering with any of what you are describing.

Stop moaning and fart-arsing around and wasting time. Just do a chargeback.

        • +3

@llama: A chargeback seems a bit extreme doesn't it? I feel like that's going the nuclear option first up.

I'll try and get it from the post office tomorrow and if not then start going down a different course of action.

Not so much moaning on here as warning other buyers that these guys don't seem to understand Parcel Lockers so maybe don't get yours shipped to one.

Seem fine with shipping to normal addresses from what I've read here and on other forums.

          @DuaneDibbley:

A chargeback seems a bit extreme doesn't it? I feel like that's going the nuclear option first up

It would be, however you have told us that it's not "first up":

So far the only responses to my emails are:
          - you addressed it wrong (nope)
          - it's ready to collect (durrrr, but I have no documentation to say I can collect)

other buyers that these guys don't seem to understand Parcel Lockers

Which means that you have paid, and not received your item AND you have sent multiple emails and you have not received a relevant or helpful outcome.

Now you are saying that you are going searching for something that THE SUPPLIER needs to search for and delivery to you. I cannot understand why you are doing that?

The quick and easy way that they will understand is when they are forced to refund you because they altered your nominated delivery address.

The chargeback forces them to learn. Therefore, you need not warn other members. It's a win-win.

  • Hi rep… Are there any deals on a wireless modem router with voip capabilities on the horizon? My boblite is about to die and I am looking for something with decent wireless speed to replace it.

    • +1

Kind of one or the other .. dedicated devices excel, multi feature devices do a lot of things OK.

Having said that while these are cool (we use / sell ubiquiti at work) in my house I only have a Fritz box and it does a lot of things very well including great wireless/voip/device management - maybe look into those.

      • To clarify…
You use a dedicated modem and connect a voip/wireless router to it?

        • To clarify….
"in my house I only have a Fritz box" (well for a modem, routing, voip and wifi)
Their website seems down right now for me and I will say it takes a little nous and work to setup. My Google Fu took me here Choice, Gizmodo

        • @Elijha: the 7490 looks exactly like what I am after.
          Cheers….
Now to find a good deal..

  • I need a new wireless AP in my house and I'm tossing between this and the Netgear Nighthawk X6. Now, I've heard a lot about the X6, but not much about this one except that everyone keeps mentioning this one for some reason.

    How does it compare?

As a background, I run Untangle to do all my routing in my house so pretty much any extra features this offers isn't really that big of a deal to me. I'm more interested in the quality of the wireless connection.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

  • Ordered one. It was time to consolodate and update my home WiFi.
