Any recommendations. The one from eBay are very flimsy and it crack easily.

  • I don't think you can make a decent curved screen protector, well not for a price that will sell.

I purchased the standard S7 because I couldn't see the curved screen surviving a drop even with a case as the curved corner is exposed.

    • You should watch drop test videos. The s7 edge is extremely strong

      • Here are the first couple of links that I clicked on when goggling "s7 edge drop test"

        As expected it cracks.

Regardless, my kids will break an aircraft black box without supervision.

A small drop on a gravel footpath may break gorilla glass… I found out the hard way.

        • lol…..
That first link is a drop test with an s6 edge. Read the name on the phone's back. That was a clickbait video.

Watch a more popular video such as the videos on "Everything Apple Pro".

Even in Everything Apple Pro video https://www.youtube.com/user/EverythingApplePro the S7 Edge cracked compared to the iPhone 6S which didn't (and survived a much higher drop).

They are both impressive in that they didn't crack from being dropped for a reasonable height, but still shows the weakness of the Edge screen.

However in the real world my son cracked my wife's iPhone 6 on tiles after being dropped from height of 70cm, thankfully we had I had credit card insurance so only cost us $100 excess to fix.

        • @JB1:

You're comparing glass with metal mate.
The s7 edge cracks because it has glass on the back and front. The iphone has metal on the back.

If you really decided on the s7 based on a drop test, then that's really a shame. The s7 edge has a bigger battery, screen and the edge feature is stunning. I have one. It's a pity about your clumsy kid. I don't let kids touch my phone, so I guess you made the right option.

        • @cDNA:

I'm comparing the screen with the screen.

If the edge screen cracks because it has a glass back, wouldn't you say it's a design fault?

I say the edge screen cracks because it has a curved screen, not because of the back. I suppose that's why Samsung released two versions of the S7.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Edge and if I didn't have kids I'd probably pick it over the standard S7, but as it the Edge is a liability to me.
