Does anyone know if optus has removed the $5 data share sim? chat is telling me they don't offer it any more. Seems odd as it was only a recent-ish addition?
They told me the same on LiveChat. Told me I'd have to pay $10 extra/mth for an extra 1.5gb. I just referred them back to the CIS they sent me. Under data pool…

I just ordered two $5 data share SIM cards via online chat. The original operator was unhelpful until I sent him the above links and threatened to file a complaint with the TIO. He promptly transferred me to a "customer service representative" who processed my order without any hassle.

I had already ordered my plan. Their reps seems to be useless until you threaten to complain to the TIO… I had to do the same thing last week when I upgraded to this plan.
I am able to get the sim plan $40 - 10 for 26$ a month by combining Uniday Code + Optus boardband plan (10$ discount) - Let they know what is ozbargain guys

So, I have looked at the comments as I remember seeing someone with the similar issue, but I now have 18GB…Previously on the $50 (8GB data SIM Only Plan) - anyone know why this is the case?
If the change over happened mid billing cycle the data usage resets, you get full 10GB to use till the end of this billing cycle. It is just adding the old 8GB plan with the new 10GB plan but you only have 10GB before you get charged for extra data.

Just made a phone call to Vodafone, they are willing to offer the same plan.

porting is usually a quick process.. Expect it to be done in an hour or so. Worst case I's say 24 hours.
Decisions, decisions. Trying to decide whether to change from the $2 a day unlimited plan, this would be a good option to save $30 a month, call me crazy, but I don't need the $2 Plan anymore, hard to let go of though.

Meanwhile, better deals will come along during these 12 months due to the amount of competition out there for customers.
Check what the exit cost is first, and only go with it if economically worth it.
Ended getting the plan for $24 per month, highly doubt a competitor will beat it so ended up signing up.
Hopefully vodafone would be considering options from afar.. .
Optusnet have moved up from core strength, voice to sneak up with data<>I recall replacing $26.90 Woolworthsoptus- 5GB,500, 45days- mobile, with 4G (*favourites addons) Voda just where a few dollar-extra recharge got Treble that data. By today's market, voda should want to be look at >30 gb access in middle-entry range, to be back to where it was,fwiw.

Well I was going to change to this deal with the $5 shared Sim, only to be told as of yesterday, how convenient, they are not selling the Data Sim anymore. They gave me the CIS to read, which I had already read anyway, with the Shared Data Sim mentioned in it, but said no.
We went around in circles, I'm sure if the Optus Site was working the other few times I tried earlier in the week to change the Plan I would have probably got told the same thing. Maybe I will try again, after I have had some sleep.
Or I will just let the Ombudsman deal with it.
Update: I was told the same thing this afternoon, gave them the links again, after a shorter discussion, then the early hours of this morning whilst watching Cricket, I have the Plan and the Data Sim.
Thanks Casval for the link to the $5 Sim as that one was harder to find, although it's mentioned in the Plan CIS they will tell you it's no longer available and offer the $10 1.5gb Sim.

Just organised via chat - to have my plan upgraded. Was on the $50/month plan (no contract) paying $40/month (with broadband bundling), getting unlimited calls, text, 300 international minutes and 8GB … but now with 10GB. Sweet!
I take that back… they signed me up for an iphone - and now I'm on hold trying to get it sorted out. Damn you, Optus!!!! :(
