Cellarmasters 20% Off Over $120 - 2011 Penfolds Grange $528.15 Delivered

130
FAVOURITE

Another Cellarmasters discount code, 20% off sitewide on orders over $120. I was struggling to find anything worth buying when I saw that they had 2011 Grange for $650 a bottle, applying the code gave me the following:

Your Order
1 items in your order $650.00 Penfolds Grange Shiraz 2011
Delivery: $6.95
Handling Fee: $1.20
Code: FAVOURITE Remove -$130.00
Total to pay: $528.15

Looking at the competition Dans's $749, Langtons $645, Vintage Cellars $720, I think this is actually a bargain if you want this wine.

Don't forget your cash back, Cash Rewards currently have a "Bonus 7.60% Cashback", and PricePal offer founders 8.55%. Either could get you over $40 cash back on the price of your Grange.

Time to make some pasta!

Don't joke about the pasta. My friend has a terrific story. His father in law came home from work to find an open bottle of grange on the kitchen bench. His wife, who was clueless about wine had gone down into the grossly disorganized cellar - where $15 bottles of wine were stored next to $500 bottles of wine - and picked one to put into the casserole she was cooking for dinner that night.

His response when he saw the open bottle - 'what the f-ck is going on?'
Her response - 'hi darling, just making some dinner'

She'd opened a bottle of grange to put into the food.

They enjoyed a glass with dinner that night. He still says it was the best casserole he's ever had.

    • My cousins stole my bottle of 2004 grange until we worked out who took it, then they fessed up and returned it unopened but unfortunately it wasn't stored properly for those two days.

It was an engagement gift in 2009 from my parents for our 2010 wedding to be opened on our 10 year anniversary in 2020.

I'm sure it will still taste nice. Just has a fun story now.

I don't speak to those cousins anymore.

    2011 was a bad year for grange…

    http://www.afr.com/lifestyle/food-and-wine/penfolds-grange-v…

You can bet much better similar style reds for a fraction of that price…

    • True, but it's the best Grange you can get for under $500 (inc cashback) though….

But perhaps this would suit your tastes better Zonte's Footstep Violet Beauregard Malbec 2012, for $161.65 delivered.
