    Probably but! You can't then use the TV to access any other network (including internet) until you manually disconnect from that network. From what I understand your device needs to join a personal WiFi network that this drive creates. Some devices (PCs, macs, android phones, iphones) allow "concurrent wifi mode" allowing both WiFi access to the drive and internet access as well.

    This drive does not as far as I'm aware join your home network.

      Ooh so if you use that internet booster thing, where the phone combines WiFi and 4g to speed up your connection, you can technically use this and still be online

  I have one of this. You can configure this device for internet pass through (wifi AP only since there is no RJ45). So your smart Tv connects to this device wifi to access the contents and can also access the internet via this device.

    Does that also mean that if you take the hard drive with you and is outside the home the TV loses internet connection unless you manually set it to connect back to your home network?
