Hi Ozber's, total bargain for the red wine lovers amongst us. Just received an email from Winedirect.com.au.
This pack looks amazing, a saving over $630 on RRP $861. I have bought a case and I thought you also might want to.

I have drank about half of these wines before and they are all brilliant, especially Mr.Riggs and Irvine Grand Merlot. I'm sure hoping the rest of the case is just as brilliant. (see the complete wine list below)

Wow that looks insanely good value!

    • Glad you like it, it is probably the biggest premium red pack we have offered to date! The Oliver's DJ Cabernet is stunning! The Lino Ramble Treadlie GSM is great from a producer that only releases 360 dozen per vintage and sources it's fruit from surrounding big name producers. Every bottle in this pack is a belter!

That looks great, 2005 Irvine Merlot Royale sounds wow. Now how to justify spending $250 on wine…

      • This or the over the top red pack?? could you do a price for both?

  • +2

Well, $225 if you us OP's referral link :) James Irvine makes the best Merlot in Australia trying to replicate Chateau Petrus that he fell in love with in France, definitely a bucket list wine!

    • I don't think Ch Petrus ever made (or could make, or would want to make) a a super-ripe, syrupy Merlot at 15.3% or 16% a/v like the Irvine pair here.

      • I fully agree with you Brian. I didn't say the Irvine WAS Chateau Petrus, simply that Jim Irvine has been trying to replicate it. They are both certainly examples of big Merlot and benefit greatly from a few hours decanting before drinking

Great selection. I just went halves with a workmate. One person gets 1st choice, then the other gets the next 6 choices… Not sure which option I want

    • Hmmm that is a tough one! What style of wine do you prefer?

      • The $290 style!

Realistically it would be wasted on me, but I would like to try it for novelty. I am a fan of peppery Hunter shiraz. The bolder, the better

In that case, you might be in luck! If you wanted to get the $290 Irvine Merlot Royale to try it, your workmate might be drawn to grabbing the Irvine Grand, Alpha Cabernet, Curtis Cavaliere, Oliver's Cab and a couple of others. This may leave you with either the Mr. Riggs, Lost Buoy or Pertaringa or Heirloom. All of which would most likely suit your tastes. The Lost Buoy especially is a pearler with amazing length! If you go big, you will most likely still be left with some awesome Shiraz, so take your pick and enjoy!

  • Man that's some expensive merlot! Tempted to see wtf… Need to look up some reviews and then somehow convince the misses

Halliday Wine Companion has reviews of both the Irvine Merlots, 91 / 94 pts for the Grand / Royale.

    Hi rep
When is the next 30% off straight dozens coming out?
    Cheers

    • Hi Birdyzone, we aren't sure at this stage, stay tuned though, they tend to pop up from time to time

  • To much Merlot and 2011 in there for mine. I'll pass.

    • Unfortunately not Brent3000, that deal is for single bottles in mixed dozens. This is a pre-configured pack

Hi all, due to the overwhelming popularity of the pack so far, we have run out of the 2013 Heirloom Barossa Shiraz. We do however have the 2012 Heirloom McLaren Vale Shiraz that we are happy to replace it with, which is also stellar! All orders currently placed have already received the 2013 Barossa and have been packed and shipped today. Any questions or queries, please email me at [email protected]
