Sale on 27" Korean Monitors on eBay (1440p IPS/IPL Rejected Dell/Apple Monitors)

Been looking at getting a second 27" Korean monitor to pair with my first one I got yonks ago. Been on whirlpool to see the latest news and looking at a few eBay shops selling them. One of them is having a sale on at the moment and some of the prices are pretty good compared to what was being posted on whirlpool. I didn't put it up as a deal however as I can't see this store being a "Top-Seller" anywhere.

The store is:

Feedback looks decent so if I can convince the wife, I'll probably be making a purchase myself.

For example, http://goo.gl/6w29t0 is currently sitting at $229USD delivered which is roughly $300AUD. For a 27" 1440P ips monitor, that's pretty awesome.

For those that have no idea what I'm talking about, here is the link to the whirlpool forum post: https://goo.gl/ZXiJfJ. An exert from the OP describing what you are buying:

"What happened was that Dell/Apple ordered a batch of panels from LG and when the batch arrived, a sample was taken and from that, the amount of issues found in the batch determine the class of the panels in the batch. If the panels cannot be classed as A+ panels, they are rejected and sent back to LG who has to do something with them to break even. In this case, they were sold to these local smaller Korean companies to do as they please.

Some issues picked up include deal/ stuck pixels and panel defects like backlight bleed and colour associated problems."

Don't come complaining here when you have problems with your new monitor.

    • I already have one, been running it the last 4ish years with out a hitch. I know that isn't representative of Korean monitors as a sample size of 1 is not a sample size however myself and quite a few other people around the place are very happy customers.

Even Apple stuff DOA, the difference in cost would then be felt in their after sales service.

    • Aren't they all Korean?

Why is $300 cheap for this one? Plenty of 27" IPS around that price that are not factory seconds.

      • Looking at prices being discussed on whirlpool, $300 delivered for these monitors are a good price. Most of them average around the $350+ mark.

I've not seen an 27" IPS from a local/online store for around the $300? Similar specs from Dell/Samsung etc are quite a bit higher.

  • this one looks soo good..

LG 25UM57 is actually pretty cheap in Australia. $220 in MSY.

      • ah didnt know. thanks Scotty and OP

    • I wouldn't go to eBay for known brands just because you can get them in Aus, and a lot of times on special. I'm just pointing out this sale on the Korean monitors.

  • it's such a shame that the bezel and stand on these are so crap and cheap looking.

    • Lol, yeah the stand is so bad. It wobbles and looks so cheap. I'd be looking at getting a decent 2 monitor vesa desk mount if I got a second one.
