    15.6" Widescreen Display

The optional display delivers bright, crisp visuals in 16:9 widescreen format in HD (1366 x 768) resolution.

That sounds awesome on a 15" screen. If you're legally blind.

    • Does it matter if you are plugging it into a tv?

Terrible deal, I'm waiting for the i7, 15 inch 4k Screen with 4g dedicated graphics card for under $500

    Every ozbargain computer post ever

    • What is the NORMAL price?

    • No SSD, no deal

I'd be surprised if half the people on this website even use stuff they would need an SSD for

        • +2

SSD greatly improves computer speeds with literally anything you use. Not to mention the fast boot up times now also means it's not a huge inconvenience to actually turn off your pc (not just put it to sleep).

This is a dumb elitist statement. Every PC bought in this day and age should have a SSD bar very few specific applications such as media/file/backup servers and even then you would still benefit from loading the OS on an SSD.

As much as I like Lenovo stuff, the B50 series is a shocker. It's made of cheap plastic, the touchpad is awful and the buttons feel like you're not quite pressing them right, the keyboard is spongy, has little travel and flexes quite a bit.

For the price, it might be alright, but just don't go in expecting Thinkpad level build quality.

    What makes the display "optional"?

  • +2

Also keep in mind these U series i7's are pretty average, particularly if it's not in an Ultrabook form factor as you've got a rather large and heavy chassis with only a dual-core CPU.

  • shame it's not fullHD

Getting pretty tired of seeing laptops with overkill CPUs and plenty of RAM and a shockingly slow HDD and miserable 1366x768 display. Sigh
