Had older version 2.6kW CS/CU-E9PKR installed last year for bedroom. Working well so far. Hence looking for another one for living room. Users comment this new Z version running on newer R32 refrigerant hence higher COP (4.5 star cooling & 5 star heating)
How much is the installation for these ones? $500 as others mentioned
Paid $500 for back to back installation. Additional $150 for electrical.
Last year i paid $400 for a back to back installation including electrical work and a wall bracket from a licensed installer with a genuine tax invoice.
@pash81: In VIC or NSW?
@azm:
Brisbane
@pash81: In summer? That's cheap!
@wtfnodeal: Yes, got in installed on 14/12/2014. I have never paid more than $400 for any aircon installations in the past as well.
It's $350 for installation for me. Got the 2.5kW ver from last 20% off promo. Pretty decent unit.
@ntb: who does installations for that price can any one recommend a installer?
@TheStahh: the price was from an installer in my local newspaper.
@pash81: Hi, by any chance could you please PM me the details of the installer you used? I'm tossing up whether it is worth buying the air con from here.. or if its cheaper from the air con guys themselves as they get trade price, etc.
@ntb: Hi, would you be able to pm me the contact of your installer in Brisbane? I am looking one in Brisbane. Thanks
@Chaiochun: nah, not in Brisbane
@ntb: the installer is Melbourne based? Could you pm me for the contact details ? Thanks
@kimba88: The installer cant get the air con cheaper than this price. Where r u based? I'm in Brisbane
@pash81: I'm in Sydney.. But my property is in kippa ring
@pash81: could you share the contact for the installer? I am at south of Brisbane
@kimba88: Sent you a PM
@Chaiochun: Your settings doesnt allow me to PM you.
@pash81: sorry I have enabled my pm setting thanks!
Sorry don't think it will work
Reading through the T & C, eBay purchases are not eligible for the cash back
Section 7
Purchases of Eligible Products must be made at a participating Panasonic retailer or Panasonic Specialist Air Network dealer / installer. Online purchases (including purchases via eBay) are not eligible. Claimants must have fully paid for the Eligible Product before they are eligible to submit a claim.
Purchased a Panasonic 2.6kW last year when eBay had 20% Sale and Panasonic running Cashback together. When picked up at Good Guys, receipt/tax invoice issued had no mention of eBay purchases. Looks like normal in store purchase with full amount shown. Using the receipt/tax invoice to submit to Panasonic, able to claim the Cashback with no issue.
I did the same thing with the 5kW system last year as well.My receipt was the same as yours, no mention of anything to do with ebay.
Maybe they've changed it?
How much time did it take for Panasonic to process cashback after sending reqd docs?
Last year's T&C is different though, it stated:
Online purchases from other than approved Panasonic retailers and Specialist Air Network dealers / installers are excluded (e.g. eBay) and are not eligible.
So with last year's cashback, you can buy online as long as it's from a Panasonic retailer.
This year's, however, it seems that all online purchases are not eligible.
Probably need to confirm with Panasonic.
Well,. as per this condition, it would mean no cashback will be paid for an AC bought online directly from good guys website.. This doesnt seem right!!…
I have purchased and used C&C from TGG eBay store previously and the tax invoice I got looked exactly the same as if purchased from the store itself. Well let's hope it stays the same :)
Also, when you go to the Panasonic promotions page, you can see TGG as one of the stores in the dropdown list.
Good price for the A/C. Just be aware that installation will set you back another ~$500 or so.
Can the good guys organise installation?
I'm pretty sure they would have someone. Same as HN. DSE had people who could install aerials as well… tile shops have tilers…
I mean, I do understand your question as normally you're buying in store and not online.
Ya for $500 or so.
I'm sure they'll recommend someone. Probably best to find your own though I think.
just shared these details with my AirCon guy ( who has been recommended by friends and our feedback is awesome for him). Just bought the Fujitsu one for parents and he will install it for $500. Highly recommend him …name George ….0449780798 incase if anyone is looking for installation in Sydney.
Is it good compared to 3.5 Mitubishi Electric Signature series (inverter) one? That costs around 1k
Cheaper to get 3.5kw fujitsu? 150 cash back
Only $20 cheaper. You need to consider the indoor unit dimensions between this and fujitsu if you don't like it to look "pop out" of the wall then this may be your choice. Panasonic feels like stronger in airflow but Fujitsu is very quiet.
Edit: looks like this new model has deeper indoor unit than Fujitsu so if you want smaller indoor unit than Fujitsu is your choice.
Some said Fujitsu is quieter but you've made a good point about the fan speed though.
Have been waiting for an ebay deal for this split air con…. :D
Noooooo!!! I saw the cash back deal & just bought one last week!!!! :(
Great price. Thanks :)
This or the Fujitsu?
The Fujitsu in the other deal post is only 2.5kw. If want to compare best to get the same capacity then go from there.
Yeah I realised that…
I was actually asking about the brand in the OP, as well as the different refrigerant they use (R32 in the Fujitsu vs R410 in this).
All the new 2015/16 Panasonic models use R32.
I went with the Panasonic as against Fujitsu as I felt it's feature set was somewhat better.
@cool_ice6: Agree, Fujitsu ASTG12KMCA 3.5KW(C) / 3.7KW(H), E.E.R. Cooling 4.07 / C.O.P. Heating 4.57.
New Panasonic CS/CU-Z12RKR 3.5kW(C) / 3.7kW(H), E.E.R. Cooling 4.38 / C.O.P. Heating 4.87.
Given same cooling & heating capacity, the higher the EER & COP numbers, the more efficient the system is.
Fujitsu C3.5kW H3.7kW Reverse Cycle Split System SET-ASTG12KMCAis $1029
1029 - 205.8 (20% off) = 823.2 $ - 150 $ cash back = $ 673.2
Before everyone goes and buy this expecting a cashback from Panasonic, please confirm with Panasonic if eBay purchases are eligible. The T&C states:
Online purchases (including purchases via eBay) are not eligible.
Last year's promotion was worded differently:
Online purchases from other than approved Panasonic retailers and Specialist Air Network dealers / installers are excluded (e.g. eBay) and are not eligible.
So if you were successful last year, don't assume it'll be the same this year.
I have bought from The Good Guys website before, and the receipt stated "WEB SALE" with a web order no. I'm not sure how the receipt looks like if bought from eBay.
I think it will be fine when I purchased mine the invoice has nothing about it being a online purchase let alone being purchased from ebay only has the store/full price from where it was purchased.
They might be referring to buying it from a standard ebay seller which might not provide you with a none ebay invoice and not a approved Panasonic retailer.
YES, Panasonic will pay cashback (via card) for purchases made from authorised eBay stores, eg The Good Guys.
I rang the Panasonic promotions enquiry number today - 1800 023 836 - and the lady was quite definite about it.
Thanks OP! Fingers crossed for cash back.
Is there any special around on a 3 header unit?
That is when you have 3 internal units all connected to one external compressor/condenser unit.
Does anyone have any feedback on a multihead system?
Just picked up a unit and the receipt had no reference to eBay or online sell. It even stated the full price on the receipt
i'm bummed! just purchased this 2 days before the cashback period started
:(
and now missed this eBay deal
doh!
actually i got the 2.5kw one.
I paid $450 install in brisbane. - Smirff elect
including removal of old unit, brackets for install etc.
Can't decide between the Panasonic 2.5Kw or Fujitsu 2.5Kw. What do you guys think? Any help will be much appreciated.
What kind of maintenance is needed and what kind of cost is involved for an air con like this? Seriously considering one now.
Installation is the biggest cost after buying one.
Which is typically around the $400 mark as mentioned above? Any other maintenance cost after that?
Not that i know of according to the guy installed for me only need to clean the indoor unit filter and splash off the dirt or dust built up on the outdoor unit with water once a year.
$400 mark for installation is a wishful thinking but $500 more realistic.
Another question, if I pick this up will this fit into a standard sedan?
Last time I bought a Samsung one and put it it my Audi A4 without any problem :D .
Thanks. Good to know.
any good installation service in Adelaide?
I asked the good guys if i purchase it from ebay, can somebody else (e.g. air conditioner installer) collect it from the store? They flat out said no. I can't pick it up as i live interstate.. and they won't let anybody other than my name pick it up.. as it goes by paypal/ebay details when its paid for. They won't even let me call up afterwards to notify them of the different name picking them up.. as its apparently in ebay/paypal terms and conditions. Anyone know anything about this??
So.. anyone lodged the cash back successfully yet? :)
I did lodge my claim successfully with Panasonic. I'd even sent them an email before that to confirm TGG eBay purchase eligibility and they replied saying no issues with it :)
Good price especially for the KW.
Anyone have experience with this model?
