Charles Tyrwhitt are having a deal again, offering $39.95 per shirt with free delivery. They offer great quality shirts which are delivered in a robust cardboard box.

Shirts are all 100% cotton with complimentary brass collar stays.

In my opinion, this deal beats the 3 for $99.95 deal here, because you still needed to pay $12.95 for shipping with that deal (making it a minimum of $37.60 per shirt), but you stand to lose money in the shipping fee if you find the shirts don't fit and you decide to return them. However if you are confident that the shirts will fit, feel free to check out that deal too.

As with all Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, there is a free 6 month return policy (via Parcelpoint).

The terms and conditions state that the offer is limited to 5 shirts per household, but I have ordered more on their previous deal and it's been fine.

All you need to do to activate the deal is click through the link provided.

Their customer service is also excellent (and perhaps even 24/7), so if you have any questions, feel free to call them and be met with a friendly English accent!

EDIT: The code to this deal is stated above (UUAAY), however, the deal is not activated by inputing the code on checkout. It is by visiting the site through the link: http://www.ctshirts.com/UUAAY (or click on the link provided on this post)

Here are the terms and conditions:
The shirts for $39.95 offer applies to Charles Tyrwhitt's business or casual shirts originally priced at $140 and $160 and piqué polos originally priced at $100 and $120. Offer is limited to 5 shirts per household. Handmade tie offer prices are $39.95, originally $100 or $120, and $59, originally $170. The free delivery offer applies to one single order and applies to standard delivery to an Australian address only. The offer end date is Sunday 10th April 2016. Offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offers or vouchers, or on website clearance section. We reserve the right to withdraw, amend or extend this offer at any time, without prior notice. Strikethough prices where shown refer to original selling prices offered on websites www.ctshirts.com/aupreview and www.ctshirts.com between 30th Nov 2015 and 10th Jan 2016.

Whilst I do like the shirts, these seems to be the normal prices.

In real terms it isn't a real bargain imo

If you just go to ctshirts.com without the code, then you will see that most business shirts start from $69, or $49.75 when you buy 4 shirts.

Though agreed, they seem to have deals often. However the last deal that was identical to this one ended on 10 Jan I believe, so I thought it would be worth mentioning.

      • Fair enough! We do love CT on here haha

    • You are right … this is pretty much the normal price now … 3 for 99$ with free shipping would be a good deal.

The problem for me is the shirts haven't changed in the past 3 years. I already own all the decent ones.

    • Any styles you recommend over that time that have been real winners / you like?

      • I get the non-iron standard-cuff because I'm lazy. Great shirts.

Go for blue & red patterns. Generally any other colour is weird and there is always a strong risk of ending up with a closet full of blue shirts.

        • Ok thanks, I liked some of the solid square checked patterns (I like those with VH shirts but the fit is always just average). Haha closet full of blue shirts, I'll ALWAYS lean towards picking a blue shirt.. inoffensive and good colour, but you're right need to push against only buying them.

      • This one and all the other Diamond weaves: http://www.ctshirts.com/au/slim-fit-non-iron-diamond-weave-s…

Are absolutely fantastic, it feels like a really expensive shirt, mainly because it's fantastic quality and fairly heavy, but very breathable. It looks good in person as well, the photos make the weave look in your face but its actually very subtle. And the non-iron on these ones work a charm.

        • thanks for the rec! I'll order one of those with the one I get. Any others that are good?

Is this twill grid check good? quite like the look of it, nothing too jazzy but just smart - http://www.ctshirts.com/au/slim-fit-non-iron-twill-grid-chec…

        • I haven't got it but if you like the pattern I'm sure you'll like the shirt!

          I also have these two, http://www.ctshirts.com/au/slim-fit-non-iron-puppytooth-roya… http://www.ctshirts.com/au/slim-fit-non-iron-bengal-stripe-n…

They would be the most similar to the one you linked. They are definitely a lot lighter than the diamond weave, but they're still thick enough that theres no see-through if you're wearing a singlet/undershirt underneath. That might be more of a quality thing more than being light/heavy though.

The puppytooth and other similar weaves are also another good choice. I can't put my finger on it but they just seem to have a lot more character and quality when theres a weave.

        • @dewso:

Thanks dewso, great advice and appreciate it!

  • Doh, just ordered via the 4 for $190 the other day. :/

    Very nice shirts though. ;)

    • Yes they are!

If you're really bothered, you could always return the shirts for free and take advantage of these prices!

      • +3

Nah. I'm not that bothered. Just means I spent an extra $30 all up, but that's life. :)

  • Whats the sizing like? I'm a 39 or 40 in Van Heusen, David Jones and Calvin Clein

    • +2

      Check the specs.

      Or in summary:

"Slim" is a modern cut - not baggy/daggy but also not heaps skinny. Probably similar to your CK.
"Extra slim" is the actual slim cut

    • About the same size in terms of collar, but if you're regular/skinny, go for the extra slim CT shirts.

      • I'm definitely not skinny but their 'extra slim' shirts definitely don't look extra slim on me.

Very good shirts for the price though and I also really like being able to select the sleeve length.

  • +1

If only they had 40cm collar size. 39 and 41cm fit fairly well for me but 40 would be perfect.

    • +1

      See my reply below for why I don't think there's a 40.

  • I wouldn't mind trying this out - but as soon as I select my collar size (41) there is immediately no shirts with the correct sleeve length (94).
    Weird.

    • What shirts do you normally buy in that size? I struggle to find any 43/94 in aus. I thought I had a hard time finding shirts….

      • I have a few Van Heusens in that size combo. Didn't think it was unusual.

  • 100% cotton make it difficult to iron, no?

    • +2

Get non-iron you can just hang them up.

      • +1

I only get the non-iron ones and they are great quality.

Just don't have your washer spin at higher than 400 rpm and you shouldn't have to iron them. Works for me.

  • +2

What I dislike about the Extra Slim Fit business shirts is that the armholes are too low (i.e. large). Could just be me with my weird shape, but it would be nice if they were higher.

    • Me too! I thought it was only me!

    • Yeah, there's definitely something not right about the armholes. As crap as the Van Heusen quality is, they've at least got the fitting right.

    • Didn't really know what you were talking about, but have just tried on an extra slim I ordered (received today) and you are correct. I'll be returning the extra slims due to this, which also seemed to shorten the sleeve length and made the fabric 'bunch up' at the shoulders when you lift your arms up. Weird. I've let them know this design isn't right in my return comments. On the plus side, one of the designs I ordered didn't really grab me so I when I reorder at the cheaper pricing provided by this deal, I won't get that one again. ;)

  • Shame it doesnt apply to pants :(

  • +1

    37 cm (228)
    38 cm (327)
    39 cm (327)
    41 cm (327)
    42 cm (327)
    43 cm (327)
    44 cm (327)

Why is there no size 40? I don't get it. Piles of every other size.

    • +4

I think it's because these are all conversion from inches which seems to be the standard in making shirts.

      14.5" = 36.8cm - rounded to 37
      15" = 38.1cm - rounded to 38
      15.5" = 39.37cm - rounded to 39
      16" = 40.64cm rounded to 41
      16.5" = 41.92cm - rounded to 42

Hence, no 40… best you measure your own neck and see whether it fits closer to 39.37 or 40.64 and choose 39 and 41 respectively. For me, I sit almost right in the middle of that range, chose 39 and it fits me fine. Worse comes to worse, move the top botton a smidge wider to give you more space (pull out the old needle and thread and DIY).

They have good deals all the time. I recently got a 3 for $85 deal but had to pay another $10 or so for delivery. Good shirts that last very well. The ones I just bought are replacing the last shirts I got from these guys. Far better than anything you can get for a similar price (and more) in any shops here.

  • +1

Great find, great shirts! Got x2 on their last sale, very impressed with the fabric quality. Going to give their non-iron shirts a go.

  • what's their sizing like?

    • What specifically do you need to know?

  • Seen these pop up on here a few times, seems to be most people are very happy with their shirts. Ordered two to see if i can nail down my sizing.

    Thanks!

  • How does the slim cut off Charles Tyrwhitt compare with TM Lewin Slim fit ?

    • Yeah also interested in this comparison between the 2 brands - same price shirts atm, but CT seems to have a much higher RRP.

TM Lewin Slim fits me slightly loosely but well enough.

Is there much of a quality difference between CT and TM?

  • Darn, the code was working up until last night, but not today. :(

I'll just wait for next sale.

I did order the Slim fit non-iron twill grid check royal blue shirt. Nice shirt, but I got the sleeve length wrong. I called up to double check if I can exchange it and I can.

    • Still working, just checked!

  • I also noticed the slim fit shirt was a bit baggy. Has anyone here got the extra slim and while it should be slimmer, is it a bit baggy?

  • Just try it today. Not working anymore :(

    • Definitely still working! make sure you click through the link

      • Correction! Still working !

        /gif stupid me

  • Has anyone else that has ordered (closer to when the deal was posted) NOT recieved their order yet? Or is anyone able to advise on the average lead-time to receive orders? Getting pretty close to a month now for me and no sign :-/

    • Follow up with them - their shipping is super quick!

    • Last order I made took a week and a half, have they said your order is shipped or still packing?

      • It said it had shipped…

I sent them an email on the 10th, they said they were sending replacements with a sign on deliver.

I live in darwin, so often the post is a little slow to get up here at times.
