50% of the kit is imperial sockets that you will never be able use.
Just get a decent metric set.

True ozbargainers still drive an HQ, and buy their brake pads from Kmart.

          You forgota Brunsa-wicka

        • @freesteakknives:
Thats because that came later …. amd now in a Brunswick.

    • I use imperial at work more than I use metric!

      • what are you working on that still has imperial?
I have not had a need for imperial in 15 years of working on cars daily

  • Postage worked out to be cheaper from their eBay listing for a 78pc Metric Socket set by $5.50 for me.

    • Hope you didn't forget Cashrewards

  • where is the reference for this information "It looks like SCA are discounting Stanley tools across the board:".

do you have any idea what they will stock instead? more toolpro generic or kinchrome/sidchrome premium?

      Discounting, not discontinuing.

I have this set. Highly recommend it!

  • Would love the set but i dont think im going to use it, just need 1/2 ratchet

I have this set, been useful. Its done some car work, put my brother in laws bed and their sons crib and change table together, fixed a commercial dishwasher to name afew. If I ever need the imperial ill have it, dont know why the car guy hated on that, if your a mechanic id think you would have better than stanley.

For a general use set its not bad, no big breaker bar though.

    • You'd think that professionals would use great brand tools but not always. The last roadside assist guy that came out is using Aldi tools. They do the job and losing an Aldi spanner is not the same as losing a Snap-On. Then again he's also not needing to torque up head bolts. And the electricians on site next door are using Ozito power tools. Whatever gets the job done I guess.

  • Just read the reviews and some bloke bought it previously for the same price minus 20% during ebay sale. Kinda reduces the attractiveness of this deal. Ah well…

  • I have used their 132pce socket set extensively on my track car, great little kit. I picked it up for $129 years ago during a Bathurst sale. I keep an eye on it each time there is a sale like this but the cheapest I've seen it in the last few years is $179. They've also bumped the RRP up a bunch in the last 6 months, cheeky!
