Couldn't they wait for you to post first?

      Any day now :)

    • jv, Im disappointed no "whats the NORMAL price" question.

  • Out of stock in a lotta places around Brisbane

When it comes to LED lamps, it's not watts that matters - it's lumens.

How many lumens does each lamp produce?

    • Link to masters claims 800 lumens

      • +1

I find I don't need more than 400 or 500 (real) lumens. I got two Mirabella filament globes from Coles for $10 each several months ago and for me they are plenty bright enough at 420 claimed lumens.
From the look of the design these would be suited to directional applications like recessed downlights or lighting a porch outside. Probably little to no heatsinking so at 10W the brightness will fade over time.

Costco sells 820 lumen LED lamps (in a 3 pack) for $13.

        • +1

i got some of these today. Nothing but good things to say about them

    • What about K?

      • +20

"640 K ought to be enough for anybody."

        • +6

Have not looked but in the colour spectrum 640 k would be a strange colour.

I recall Masters having a 10w Orbit $5 LED sale about a year ago, but whenever I went to the Adelaide store they had no stock (despite continued ads on their site). When asked, none of the staff knew about stock levels. As far as I saw they never had sufficient stock for a planned two week sale.

I hope this time around they have a lot more.

    • Yes they had the for $5 before. No bayonet ones in Hawthorn or Oakley (Melb)

      • +2

        Oakley (Melb)

        The sunglass store?

      • who the heck has edison screw fittings in their house. Its like the Betamax or HD-DVD of the electrical industry

    • +1

They had probably 6 cartons stacked at the entrance. Maybe 50x per carton.

    • Are these available in any of their other stores? Ive found their online claims of stock to be inaccurate.

  • +1

Thought these bulbs have always been at $5. I bought a bayonet one and it died in just 3 months…

  • If you're near a Costco, you can get a 3 pack of LED 8W 3000K (806lm) / 5000K (820lm) edison/bayonet bulbs for I think it was $13.99.

    • +1

Got them. disappointed, not bright enough.

  • I cant think of anything worse than warm white.

    • +13

Warm white is ideal for bedrooms.
The cool light is too sterile.

i also hunt around the light globe section in bunnings when i'm buying stuff as they nearly always have somet LEDs going cheap

just bought a a few philips LED globes ranging from 4W to 9W for $2.50 each. They were marked as clearance but I'm not sure why as they're still selling plenty of the same bulbs at the normal price.

Been slowly getting myself and parents migrated over to LED bulbs. Love the instant light compared to the warmup of the CFL globes.

    • Fantastic! LED is the best for sure. I am getting my mum migrated over as well. Save on $$$$$$$$ and those nasty electricity bills.

    • I can never find half decent bayonet or screw LED globes for under $15.

      • Woah, where were you in December?
Dick smith were clearing out Philips LED globes that cost up to 5 bucks!

    • which bunnings?

  • +1

What normal watts would these be equal to. Would the be around 75watt for brightness.

    • +2

      Yeah, box says 75W equivalent.

      • Thanks. Perfect.

    • +1

      According to this site: http://shrinkthatfootprint.com/energy-saving-light-bulbs-led…
      10w LED @240v is ~ 700 lumens and is 60watts incandescent equivalent.

      • Its not quite the saving in energy i would have hoped for over a 15W CFL globe.

        • yeh, its interesting.. I note the costco one's were a lot less input power (8w) to generate more lumens. (800+)

      • Except these ones say they are 800lumen.

        • Companies like to stretch the truth especially with light output
I would be more inclined to believe an independent website such as the one I listed. Make sure you check the 240v chart.

        • +1

          @King Tightarse:
yes I agree, but there are also devices that are more power efficient so i would think some brand do have more light output for the some power usage.
I have visited other sites and they compare different brands and they show different lumen outputs (sorry, cant remember the sites now but I am positive it was an Aussie one)

          @PVA:
          Yes, that's quite possible.

  • Well you can also order them online with 5% off from gift card, 5% extra for subscription and 2% from cashrewards.

  • Ordered 4 for click and collect Burnside VIC :)

  • +1

    Great post Barleyshake

  • Can anyone locate the Bayonet ones on the website ?. Looking at Click & Collect but cannot find it on the website

    • neither

    • Might wanna dropby in store. I went to the Knoxfield Store and heaps of stock for both B22 and E27, although it's only showing E27 on the main site.

  • Are they dimmable?

    • Nope

  • So many cheap globes lately.

  • I bought some from ALDI >1200 lumens but they were $9.99 each :(

  • I cant find bayo fitting, only screw?

    • I couldn't either. I bought it in the store!

  • There are a lot of stock in masters dandenong 3175 when i rang them about 1 full pallet but when i went there. They said they are nit authorised to sell them yet even it is already advertise in the website …. It seems this is only marketing strategy so people who come and dont see the product, they will buy some thing else instead.
