If only it had 2GB RAM…

  • I am waiting for the 3rd gen, which will hopefully have 2gb ram, 16gb storage and retain its 4.5" size. 720 p would be the icing on the cake.

No idea if and when it will be released.

  • Good timing. Was looking for a dual sim phone and was leaning to this one anyway. Ordered one for p/u. Is Dickies still safe as houses?

    • Ready for pickup text received at 09:02am. Receivership seems to have sped up things.

    • ordered for pick up?
LOL i guess you just lost $159.20………………

  • There is no Marshmallow coming.

US only oops. Looks like India has already received it.

  • I got this about 3-4 months ago and it is a great phone for the price. Camera a little dodgy and could do with more RAM but probably the best value phone out there

  • how would one use a dual sim phone? Like one sim for data, another one for calls? Or like work / personal sim?

The phone has a main sim slot that can access 4G LTE and 3G signals, while the other secondary SIM only (typically) receives 2G signals.

You would put your preferred SIM (that has data allowance, for e.g data SIMS) into the first SIM and the less-often used SIM into the second. This allows you to choose a phone plan that has low call rates but have very crappy data allowances (e.g Telstra Long-life plan comes to mind) but you have the flexibility of falling back on another SIM that has a high data cap. It's up to you how you want to use it, but bear in mind Internet data will only work on the first SIM.

      ADDENDUM
2G networks will shut down in December of this year, meaning that your dual sim phone may no longer be used with two SIMS, as the hardware doesn't allow you to use 3G on both sims at once. You won't be able to receive any phone signals on the 2nd SIM with the absence of 2G gsm.

      • Vodafone 2G will continue to work. They have made no announcement when they will close it.

        • yeap. Correction:

          Optus confirmed for Apr 2017

Telstra confirmed for end of 2016 and is going to refarm the 2g network for 4g.

Vodafone: no word as of yet, but we can assume that they will follow suit as barely anyone will continue using 2G networks once the biggest players have given up on 2G and refarmed it.

      • thanks, that means 2G network decommissioning will render dual sims unusable for everyone sooner or later. If I got your message right - my gut was right telling me I shouldn't be going for such phones! XD

      • This is a good phone for the price but unless dual-SIM capability is crucially important, you can get 2 Telstra Buzz/Optus Fit Smart phones in the same money

It's an obsolete phone sold by an obsolete retailer. No thanks.
