  • Unlike Jetstar, Tiger flies Syd to Whitsundays (Prosperine) direct and the deal is valid during the best season.

    • Where is this Airport? I have been to Hayman Island and we flew direct onto Hamilton.

  • Great deal TA! Thanks

All the Victorians who left WA could have used these fares couple months ago!

  • Boooo, no Melbourne to Whitsunday

  • sydney - whitsunday locked in! first timer here, any suggestions?

Hamilton Island - they swapped all the cars for golf buggies!

      • Is there a month thats ideal or best value to go? I was thinking August.

      • Maybe for just Hamilton island it would be worth taking Jetstar direct. After you add the expensive boat and shuttle transfers and Tiger visa card fees (if applicable) the $125 direct Jetstar flights don't look so bad.

        • Actually i think Whitsundays would be better than Hamilton but yeah for either flying direct to Hamilton would be way better i think..

    • A couple of companies run 1/2 day reef snorkeling tours out of Airlie beach, just catch a 3 hour bus from Mackay and your good to go.

    • Get a cruise, I just finished mine yesterday 3d/2n with Prima cruise and that was a perfect trip with snorkeling, stop at whitheaven beach for few hours, then snorkeling.
We were the first on whitheaven which was a big plus.
can't recommend them enough, we were 12 ppl on it.

      • How good is whitehaven beach!

  • just booked perth return for 2 ppl.
    $200
    nice n cheap

We just got back from our epic Tigerair around the country in a week holiday! We went from BNE - MEL - HBA - MEL - ADL - MEL - PER - SYD - BNE. It was insane. $290/pax all up to see all the states. Loved Tigerair. Travelled with only a backpack and used mostly public transport to and from the airports. I wish they'd eventually fly to Canberra as I still have the two territories left to visit :)

Edit: some stats: 4 time zones, 6 cities, 8 flights, 9 days and 10638 km flown.

    • Probably slept every night in a plane or airport by the sound of that. More savings!

Actually I haven't slept over in airports before (though there was one night we probably could've done) but if we did that we would've been quite tired the following day.

I drafted this military-style itineary that went something like this: arrive at airport, walk for x minutes to bus stop, catch y bus, arrive in city, do z activity for i minutes, go have food at j place for k amount of money etc etc. everything is thoroughly researched so that we make the most out of the 24-48 hours in each city. We did deviate slightly from the plan (which was fine and expected) but it was full on and well executed.

For the last night we stayed at Meriton in Sydney since we stayed at modest places for most of the trip. It was very nice - cooked our own food, did the laundry and the bed was super comfy, as well as using the pool faciliies, ready to head back to Brisbane and work the following day.

Would probably not do it again unless there's another super sale and would probably break it up into 2-3 day trips over a few weeks… Given that the oil prices have tanked, I think we'll see more of these fares in the near future.

I guess for Canberra we could fly down to Sydney, drive across and stay for a night. I know it's full of politicians and not exactly a touristy spot but it's the nation's capital after all.

    • You must be buggered, that's far to many transfers for me.

      • It's not that bad - a flight a day and most of them are around an hour.

  • Thanks for the post, passed on the info to family members who've booked Sydney to Whitsunday for a sweet $29 each way!

  • Great deal..just booked Melbourne-Perth return for two for $200

  • Sweet, thanks again TA. 3ppl return per-mel with 1x40kg between us through Jetstar pricebeat for about $360. Flights were good times too.

Keep up the good work Charlie Brown.

  • Hi op and all just asking if any one can find a good deal flight from Perth
