This is cheaper
http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/akai-55-uhd-smart-led-lcd-tv…I think it is safe to say Hisense has a bit of a better TV brand rep than… Akai. Not to mention this model has more features and better warranty.
I didn't mention anywhere of the quality just saying that it's not the cheapest. I agree with all you comments.
You need to be comparing deals of exactly the same brand and model TV to say another deal some where else is cheaper. The Hisense is also a better brand than Akai.
@hollykryten:
No you don't. I was referring to the ops first sentence “cheapest 55“ 4k tv“. I was just staying that it isn't. Nothing to do with specs quality etc. Its not the cheapest 55“ 4K tv that is all.edit: buhleted. in context of OP regie makes a legit point.
Hisense is a much better brand and offers 3 years warranty. What would you do if the AKAI break down when Dicksmith closes?
Use the manufacturers warranty.
Which is only 1 year..
Nahhhh
trolls are bad enough on the internet
Absolutely true for the most part. The bugs on either Android Wear or Android that haven't been fixed for years show what a failure it is.
Spoken like a true sheep ay
Out of stock peeps
This is NOT an android TV. The K321 runs an OS based off a linux kernel. Only Hisense k390, k680, t810 ,t910 run android. The K321 is a good TV for the value it is better than the previous android versions
Thanks, that's actually very useful information
+1 - This looks to run apps from the Opera store.
My mate has this and it's basically the only TV out of 10 friends that can't stream from my Plex server.
$30 chromecast, problem solved?
Shouldn't really need to have to!
True. Do you know why it doesn't? I could have sworn i read of it working but i may be getting models mixed. That said neither of my TV's support plex natively, at least i can't get it working. Chomecast and PS4 to the rescue.
Not sure, can browse the library etc but media refuses to play.
Haven't been down there personally to look but hes a fairly smart guy so he's probably tried most things I would!
is it possible to get kodi/xbmc/tvmc running on this natively?
i highly doubt it, not on the 2015 models like the k321.it has plex, not the same but still useful ,
you can load it on previously mentioned android tv's . but the k321 is still better imo
In my honest opinion stay clear of any Hisense TV's, put your cash towards a better branded tv.
the old saying you get what you pay for.The days of brand safety & cross model quality within brands are long gone as far as TV's go. I have seen plenty of shit Samsung, Sony's, both in picture quality and reliability… but they of course have fantastic models in both regards too. It's almost cyclic in nature. What matters is researching the specific model, the warranty, their support reputation.
I agree. You get what you pay for. But for what you can get out of these cheaper TV's, they really are good, bang for buck. When you by a these Chinese TV's, you're basically getting a screen from last season's big brands. We have a Hisense (different model), and yes, it's no flagship Samsung, but it's incredible, considering how much we paid for it.
Also, when you go take a look in store, they tend to dull the screens of the cheaper brands. It moves the bigger brands faster, meaning higher profit. Ask for a remote, play around with the colours, and you'll see what these cheaper screens are capable of.
Went to buy. City had four and there were 6 in the warehouse .
But it took forever to turn on.
Would have pissed me off.
I have this TV. Does take a few seconds to turn on, but I'm not in the habit of turning it on and off frequently.
I'm quite pleased with it, bought it from HN not too long ago for about $100 more.I have this exact TV. The picture quality is better than some brand names. It's true 4K, which trumps FHD by a long shot. Colours pop especially on HD channels and blu ray. Blacks are almost pure black. System UI is clean and easy to follow. The design is attractive as it's almost bezel-less and stand is a nice titanium colour, not shiny which is distracting or cheap looking. And it has one of the lightest and smallest remotes I've seen for a TV and it looks great too. It doesn't have RCA input, just component and a lot of HDMI. Only one weird thing about it. It automatically turns on around 5am for about 10 mins with no sound. Then shuts off. I notice when I sleep in the lounge room. It can be a little eerie. And there's no setting for it. I've come to the conclusion it's the Chinese government spying on me. You see, the TV is wifi connected. If I disappear, please pull apart my TV and find me.
When it randomly turns on are there any monsters with long black hair crawling out the tv?
That's just Wayne. "We're not worthy, we're not worthy."
Hi freelife
Wonder if this TV support 4K netflix movies in their App?
Since it has a native Netflix App pre installed
ThanksI notice when I sleep in the lounge room.
Wife not too happy with your ozbargaining?
I almost bought this to replace an old 40" Plasma in the bedroom… what you just mentioned about auto 5am switch-on would of been an incredibly annoying issue for me so thanks for sharing!
Does/can it run plex?
Can it do 60hz 4:4:4 ?
Have read this supports 1:1 pixel mapping, is that the same as 60hz 4:4:4?
Can someone with this TV check out this link on it
http://cdn.avsforum.com/b/b4/b4a44044_vbattach208609.png
If the red/blue words are as easy to read as the rest, then its 4:4:4.
no 1:1 pixle mapping isnt 60hz.. that just means its the right res, the actual 60hz at 4:4:4 is depenant on having a DP1.2 or a HDMI 2.0 plug, but dosnt guarantee it either.
