There is no woman, in the history of the world ever, that is interested in a guy who uses Lynx products.

Obviously you never watched the ads, you turn into a pimp after one spray.

OMG. Meercats really can talk, Louie the fly is actually a zombie and men who drive sports cars have huge members. I have to change my entire world view.

        • +2

Seems to be a lot of guys driving sports cars that I am annoying.

Yep! I've been after a hair gel that doesn't fail all through February, so looked and found Lynx Hot Night Proof gel in Wollies online store. For $5 (usually $10) I'll give it a go. [It claims to be sweat and humidity resistant]

Is Lynx really that bad (jokes aside)? I've used Dark Temptation, Apollo, and they've both smelt pretty good as a daily body spray. Very different to aftershave used when going out or whatever.

    • I think its too strong and the smell is perceived as 'cheap'.

      • the smell is cheap as a daily body spray do you mean? (i.e. like a deodorant) Or as an aftershave replacement? I definitely dont think its the latter, a nice aftershave is in a different league. But I mean just for work and normal day to day stuff using the Lynx as a body spray.

        • Well thats my guess why people don't like the product that much? I haven' really smelt 'professionals' wearing it as he smell is very recognisable .

      • +1

If Lynx is considered cheap can anyone suggest a good smellng antiperspirant deo which does not smell too strong but still does the job. Thanks

        • Yep I'm after answers to this as well!

        • i really like Adidas and i find it works pretty good . They are about $5 a can at Discount Chemist and theres like 250 ml or something in there so its pretty well priced

Alternatively if you like cologne, you can find a neutral smelling antiperspirant like those Crystal roll on things. Just spray your cologne on after you wear the AP.

        • A daily shower and an EDT

Smell is something you associate with people and places. For many, Lynx is a reminder of PE classes in school, and the (profanity) that fumigate buses/trains to compensate for lack of basic hygiene.

Nivea products are still 50% off at Coles, go grab something from their mens sensitive line.

      • Lol, the comment about the year 9 PE class and Africa definitely hit home (and I'm wayyy past school days, in my early 30s) - there was a few guys that used exactly that and I always hated it, but not so much the other smells. Good points though. I used it as a body spray only as I also use driclor separately & wanted to minimise any extra aluminium. Any one recommend nice smelling deodorant (without the antiperspirant part)?

        • You could replace the driclor with a regular antiperspirant. Or grab a classic cologne like Old Spice.

        • All the "Redwin" brand of spray-on & the roll-on Old Spice "Classic" are aluminum free.

          @infinite:

Thanks for that, I'll give that and/or Old Spice a go - handy to know.

        • @drewh:

Just to clarify, the Redwin spray-on is not the canned aerosol spray, it's the smaller plastic squirt/spray bottle. They are usually coloured either dark red, or purple.
