    Looooool

  • Single packs on ebay are cheaper, multiple packs might be cheaper with rep (depending on the postage cost and how many purchased).

As far as we can see, they go for about $4.78. Just a clarification that they are not $2.50 postage for each booster pack (otherwise it would be rather expensive) but you can save on that with this deal if you purchase in bulk.
      E.g, purchasing 5 packs @ $4 = $20 + 2.50 postage compared with 5 x $4.78 is $23.90.

However, in light of this, and to make our deal a bit more enticing we will be changing the deal to $3.50ea.

      • Yup my exact point that if people were to buy 1 pack which I went on to say multiple packs from you guys would be cheaper :)

        Good stuff rep!

  • Hi all - I haven' t looked at the product in your link (trying to get away from work) but note there are some fake cards floating around. My kids got some the other day in a milk bar. On close inspection (and some not so close inspection) you can see the borders are on angles, and the quality of the print not consistent. One card even looked like it was in Spanish!

These are probably fine, but buyer beware in general.

    • Hi Fookos,

Yes, we have seen lots of fake cards go around on ebay, gumtree and just generally everywhere.

We can, however, assure that all products sold on our website are 100% genuine, and are sourced from official Pokemon distributors. We also inspect all cards before they go on sale!

We have had no complaints regarding fake cards before and in the highly unlikely scenario that one slips through the cracks we are happy to provide you with a full refund.

  • I never got into Pokemon myself, playing it a handful of times and never the card game, but now that my youngest is at school it's all the kids are talking about.

Which sets are best to get if I want him to get characters he'll recognise from versions of Pokemon that I can run in an emulator (i.e pre-3DS).

    • I've recently looked into this myself as my 5yo son likes them… it doesn't really matter which set.. though you could go onto the wiki and see what cards are in each set. Breakthrough has only just been superseded by BreakPoint.. literally last week… i'd probably go BreakThrough. They're all compatible either way.

    • Hi Kapone,

Not sure if you are aware but there is a free to download program "Pokemon Trading Card Game Online" which teaches you how to play the game, and slowly build up a collection before spending real money on cards.

The sets these days have a mixture of old and new Pokemon, so it would be tough to say which set would be the best regarding the appearance of older Pokemon.

      • Thanks, will look into it.

    • but now that my youngest is at school it's all the kids are talking about.

That makes me strangely happy to hear. I grew up playing Pokemon, so to hear that kids today are still as keen on it as we were somehow warms the heart.

I still have the first and 2nd set in mint condition + all the poke tour cards :D They were so fun to collect and play. The first charizard that appeared in school was so torn up that the kids would all horde the one kid who had it for 1 hour trying to trade everything they had and didnt have to get it.

    • I still have those pokemon cards that came free with kraft singles back in the days and still in plastic wrappers. Also the ancient mew one that came from the cinemas for the first movie.

    • I have all mine crammed into a 1.25KG milo tin except the Mew I got from the cinemas cause MEW!
Almost all the first set lol.

  • Wasn't there going to be a 20th Anniversary re-release?

    • +1

Sort-of, kind-of. What they've done is created some special "20th Anniversary products" (11 in total) to be released throughout the year (The first of which comes out on Monday) which includes a promotional card, a pin and some 'Generations' Booster Packs. Alot of the cards in these packs are re-prints, but not necessarily reprints of the original base set cards.

      • Ahh cool, thanks for that :) trying to find this kind of info is pretty scarce

  • I sold my collection for about 10k in total about 2 years ago.

All I keep were the shadowless base set, 1st ed base set, 2001 Japanese McDonald's promo set and some other rarities.

The newer cards just don't do it for me being an 8 year when pokemon was first released.

Good deal OP, if I was still collecting if be all over it. Just wondering is pack weighing still a thing? I know it was big when I was in the collecting scene, 75%+ success rate with that method.

    • Unfortunately, pack weighing is still a thing. Many people are wary of purchasing loose packs. With the newer sets, packs without Ultra Rares have heavier code cards to try to counter the pack weighing process (so the success rate isn't as high) but I believe some people have found a way around it.

It's a dirty process, and I hope that Pokemon find a way to stop it.

Just want to reassure everyone that we DO NOT weigh packs.

      • Based on your latter comment, I'd assume we'd get an unopened box if we ordered a 36 pack of boosters?

        • The packs have sold alot better than we expected and I don't think there are 36 of any available at the moment. However, if you are interested in a sealed booster box, you can order one from the Sealed Products section of our website.
