No idea how much cheaper these can go. First $999 then $949 although with an arguably superior carrier. These fares with China Southern Airlines apply to students & anyone under 26 at time of travel. You'll need to call STA on 134 782 to make a booking. Price is inclusive of taxes & fees. Enjoy :)
Rome Return $899 Melbourne & Sydney (Students & Anyone Under 26) @ STA Travel & China Southern

You do realise the company selling these tickets is STA travel. They sell student tickets. It's what they do lol.
Just because that's "all they do" doesn't make it right.
I get having specials for students, they are experiencing financial hard times so that one day they'll be good tax contributors.
But the blanket under 26 deal is by definition ageist.
Not neg worthy but.
EDIT: Rather than neg me down, how about you tell me your side of the argument.
It's prejudicial and boo-worthy for sure, but it's not ageist. As a systematic force ageism affects the elderly, not the under 26s.
(Much the same way rich white folks can be as picked on by poor non-whites as individual cases but to say they are subject to racism or classism is absurd when racism and classism are the systematic forces that operate overwhelmingly in their favour).

Oh here we go. Time to roll out the privilege rubbish.
@PainToad: Wow dude! You started it. Ageism is an appropriation of privilege, whether by the real definition or your own botched up version of it.
You ask for no negs and exposition of an argument, get exactly that (actually got a positive from me) and you come back with a neg and one liner. See ya later.
@PainToad: "Privilege rubbish", the ignorance is strong with this one
Speaking of rubbish:
Oh look, a Buzzfeed video. The embodiment of modern hip white-male bashing.

AGEIST
Absolutely ridiculous comment.
Depends if you need a place to tether your cattle or not
Travel between 01 Mar 2016 - 26 Mar 2016 - Although $50 Cheaper, there is a much shorter window of booking compared to the recent Etihad flight deal.
Etihad:
Travel between 11 Feb 2016 - 31 Mar 2016 (Book by 21 Feb 2016)China Southern:
Travel between 01 Mar 2016 - 26 Mar 2016 (Book by 21 Feb 2016)Still worth a positive TA. As a teacher, I love this airfare race to the bottom!
horrible experiences with this airline, never again!
Go on…
I think i would rather kill myself
For $50 extra I'd certainly be going with the "arguably superior" one.
Thanks for the post as always TA, given the choices id definitely pay the extra $50 and fly Etihad. Voted worlds best airline a few times and a million times better than China southern. As per the following customer poll the 6th best Airline of 2015 vs the 36th.
http://www.worldairlineawards.com/Awards/world_airline_ratin…I agree Etihad is way better than China Southern, but it's still strange when you get the conflicting information the same person same post, "Voted worlds best airline a few times", "the following customer poll the 6th best Airline of 2015". It just sounds fanatic.
whats up with all these cheap flights to Rome
cheap oil
I think most people would go for Etihad for an additional $50
"under 26" - I'm currently 26 does this make me eligible or not?
It says by the time of flying.
I have flown with Tiger, Ryanair, Wizzair, Easyjet, and even Air Lao… China Southern is the only airline I have sworn never to use again. Its passengers seem to think they're "one up" if they put their seat all the way back from the minute the plane leaves the tarmac…forget trying to eat your meal or see your TV screen… The attendants were actually helping their passengers to put their seat back, and my requests to at least allow us to use the seat tray at meal times were ignored. I love Rome dearly…..but not at that price!
Could be worse http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/chinese-tourist…
bad panda!
Seems that your problem is more with its passengers instead of the airline itself.
^ you do realise its a passenger that reclines a chair not an airline.
He was probably referring to the cultural majority that would use China Southern. I travel quite a bit in Asia and the lack of understanding for basic airline etiquette and safety is laughable.
I don't think Asia is the one that deserves to be singled out.
You're right, but this is an airline that seems to assume that seats were meant to be as close as possible to horizontal all the time, even when it's meal time. The attendants will gladly do it for you… but when you ask them if perhaps the passenger in front might like to straighten his up just a little, so that you could actually eat, they suddenly lose all interest in you. And the passengers in front refuse to budge… to oblige must be seen as losing face.It was the same on all four flights (two from Sydney to Paris, two returning). The worst aeroplane experience in over a half-century of travelling.
Sorry for my biased viewpoint, what I read is the attendants were trying to make everyone happy, which of course is not possible. Or perhaps I missed what you have put between the lines.
I don't think I had anything between the lines… All I tried to say was that, cheap prices or no, my experience with China Southern would suggest that you are likely to have a most uncomfortable trip., whereas I have heard nothing but praise for Etihad.
you'd be mad not to drop the extra $50 for etihad which is arguably the best carrier in the world right now.
Not in economy its not.
