Sennheiser MM450-X Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones $198 Posted @ Wireless 1 eBay

CRUSHONYOU

Good morning OzBargain! Been sweet on these headphones after trying out my GF brother’s set during a recent trip. Got to play with them for a few hours streaming music from his SGS6 Edge (apt-x enabled) and was thoroughly impressed with the sound quality and signature.

Anyhoo, saw Wireless1 had these listed on eBay for $249, which after the eBay 10% off deal got it down to around $224. Already a good price, but being an OzBargainer I thought ‘why stop there’ :p

Noticing it had the ‘Make Offer’ option, I went down to their store today to chat with the guys and see if we can get some bulk buy action happening for the wider OzBargain community. After much to-ing and fro-ing, they have nicely promised to accept all offers made via eBay of $220, which after the 10% off code, brings it down to $198 :)

Just so there is no confusion with how the code works with 'make offer', here’s what I just did now:

  1. Visit the item page here
  2. Click ‘Make Offer’, enter $220 and submit the offer. Your offer should get accepted right away.
  3. Click 'Pay Now' to go to the checkout, and in the redemption code box enter CRUSHONYOU. This will bring the price down 10% to $198 and postage is free.

These headphones had a ridiculous RRP of $449 at launch and received decent reviews at that price point . Wireless1 currently have it on their site for $299. Have done the usual checks around, and this deal is the cheapest price I can find here or overseas. For $198 delivered you really can’t go wrong with this quality set of cans - Sennheiser makes good stuff.

Official product page here

PS - don’t forget to use your preferred cashback site to get another 1.5% to 2.5% back on the eBay purchase!

Ok back to work for me. Have a great day folks!

Plus for you for the initiative!

  • Nice work opp

How do these compare to the other flagship noise cancelling headphones around?

Awesome deal, thanks OP! First time I've used 'make offer' on eBay, and it's encouraging to see it working instantly! :3

  • My MM400's (only $160 at a random Catch of the Day sale) I've had since 2011 have been serving me well… tempted to upgrade to these :)

grabbed one. Thanks OP. BTW its 198 post inc

It is indeed :) was rushing off to a meeting but thanks to mods for correcting it!

    For those interested .

    This can be used

WIreless (Bluetooth) wth controls on Earcup for volume and phone call and mute noise cancelling so you can talk to ppl without taking the cups off.
Controls compatible with Android and Apple except that only Apple can use Skip button.

    Cable (plain cable no controls)

    Airplane adapter

Foldable with a compact soft case (ticked all boxes for me)

    • The skip buttons work on Android too. I've had these for a couple of years and the skip buttons have worked perfectly on a HTC One and a Nexus 6.

This is using the Poweramp app, not sure about other music apps

      • Thanks for the update—was according to the sales rep at wireless1

        Great to Know!! woohoo

How much did you get them for?

        • +1

£166 back in 2014 so this deal is, indeed, a great price

  • Damn I just purchased these logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum Wireless 7.1 for gaming I heard Sennheiser make a good headphone as well, really disappointed in the lack of Bluetooth on that one, but looking at the specs on this it would only be suitable for music? no mic? and Bluetooth is version 2.1 they are up to v4 now, is there much difference?

    • +1

I'm sure there's gonna be a mic otherwise you won't be able to use it for phone calls

    • +1

Efficiency is the main difference between v2.1 and v4

+1 for the hard work mate. Nice to see you after long :)

THanks mate! Haven't seen you in a while too! Hope all well :)

      • Yea all well. Mob here is pretty fast here now and till the time you react and think of posting a deal, it is already there :)

Solid work OP! Not too keen on their styling so won't grab a pair myself but awesome deal!

  • many years ago, i really wanted to buy its big brother 550x, but the reviews are very disappointing (considering the price they ask for). time flies. the only advantage of this 450/550 compared to my bose is the bluetooth, but its only bt 2.0.

  • How's the head clamp factor on these? Wanting to buy for wife for gym usage, but she's found previous cans have just shook off. And she's not keen on buds.

    • I've tried a few different cans at the gym to not much success. They're alright for leg day (upright doing squats etc.) but anything that you have to get horizontal (eg. bench) or move around a bit for (eg. cardio, abs) they tend to come loose/fall off. Not much help to you unfortunately but for me buds are the way to go

    • These may be more up your alley - might look a bit dumb but supposedly good for gym and decent sound:
      - Koss KSC75
      - 66 Audio BTS+

had a ridiculous RRP of $449

The RRP is a device to cause you to accept a lower price as being better value. It happens automatically and knowing that doesn't stop it happening, nor can an individual determine if it in fact has.

The only way to avoid it is to never see the RRP.

  • good deal but above my budget.

any good one under $100? would love to hear some opinions.

    • Don't Laugh. XiaoMi Piston 3 are good quality and sounds okay good as well. Used them for 4 months now and they have replaced my main headphones because you can just throw them around the place and not worry. The volume up and down will not work if you have an iOS device though. Mic and function button still works.

      MUST GET GENUINE

      • i won't laugh because i owned one pair myself. the earbuds often drop out my ear while walk. i tried all all different caps but none seems to lock in stably. they are sitting in a dark corner of my bookshelf right now.

        • That's very unfortunate… Have you tried using 3rd party foam earbuds? When I jog with these, my right ear does fall out every 10-20 steps

    • The sennheiser px100ii has been my go to headphones for the last couple of years. It is cheap yet has beaten many more expensive ones I've owned including senn hd280, Phillips fidelio X1, audiotechnica m50x and ue6000. Sennheiser has nailed it with this model. There is a deal right now: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/233747

      • thanks for the recommendation. i owned a pair of boss wired headphones and found it's quite annoying when it gets entangled here and there. was hoping to get a wireless one for a change.

  • I'll buy cause you did the hard work of haggling

  • Any idea how these compare to the Senn HD 25's ? ie that old classic style with forward punchy bass and clear vocals?

I did some reading on this, and would appreciate input on how the bluetooth might degrade sound quality.

    • wondering if the downvoter doesn't like people asking questions…

  • Can these be used without Bluetooth like with a male to male 3.5 mm audio cable?

    • Sure can :)

    • Best thing is that these can be used when the battery dies :)

    • I don't the headphone side is 3.5mm. It's a bit thinner

  • Nice one! Bought one as well. Hehehehehe

  • Hmmm how do these compare to backbeat pro's? I was actually very happy with BackBeat PRO's, with ANC and BT, but the BB PRO's were really uncomfortable for my head (I've got a big noggin). BEen trying to offload my BB Pro's looking for a replacement - was going to forget about ANC and get the BB Sense…

  • Do these have the same bug as the pxc310 where the light continuously flashes when noise cancelling is on?

  • +2

I almost jumped but realised these were on ear rather than over the ear, I'm gonna hang on to my QC25 and ATH-ANC70 for now :)

  • Well done mate, already got QC25's but this is a good deal - especially with wireless

Just a heads up guys. I have the MX-450 (No -X) and the headphones are very tight. Good thing is I can jog with them without the "Thud" of the in ear headphones, but also means after a few hours on the plane, my head feels like it's in a vice grip. Not sure if they have fixed it in this version.

Pretty good sound isolation on planes where there is a constant hum, very noticeable.

Pretty bad noise isolation in a car when you hit a ditch or rough patch. Don't even attempt on public transport.

Great audio quality, you can actually feel three layers in the headphones. Might be three drivers each ear?

Sound quality is the best in my collection of head phones when in a silent environment. Most days I just use my UE Triple.Fi or my new XiaoMi Piston 3's(I know, I know, at least when I loose my pistons, it wouldn't be like $300 out the door.

I will buy another set of these before the day/deal ends lol. Just to see how big of a difference apt-X makes, and also if they fixed how extreamly tight these dare lol.

Nice deal Wireless 1, hope I get my item faster this time. Waiting two weeks for that laptop was not cool. But then again, was a good deal as well.
