    if its a mp5 player as advertised then it should support divx and xvid without conversion.
    These generic players always have terrible battery life though, so they're pretty useless as a portable device

  "always have terrible battery life" not true, i bought an Onda clone with 4.3" lcd and battery life is 10hr for videos, 30hr for music, always is not the word you want, "maybe" or "sometimes"…

    mp5 is not a format. It is a trade-name that originated from china OEM manufacturers to designate small portable flash-based players that can play a number of music and video formats. Mp6 players are just MP5 players with Wifi for internet connectivity.

  @roja, i got it for $36 from private seller on flea-bay, which is not allowed here i think!

  mp5 is a generic name for a class of players, it plays the popular formats like avi, wmv, mp4, mpg, rmvb etc in any resolution, the previous generation(mp4) typically only plays avi files in one resolution like 320x240
