Considering that the website has only been running for just over three weeks - I suppose it must seem that way!

These are simple promotions, set monthly, to highlight what Malieta Honey has to offer over the first few months of launch.

If you understand the benefits of raw honey - and don't want to pay $12-$15 per kilo at a farmer's market for a comparable product, you will see that the pricing is exceedingly affordable.

Raw honey in woolies is $9.99/kg by the bucket. Just checked today in Leichhardt NSW. Not much of a bargain here.

Beyond the price per kg the value may be in support for someone having a go over and above lining the dark wealthy shareholder pocket.

What sort of flowers do the bee's collect from OP?

Malieta Honey's Redlands Variety is wonderfully balanced and wholesome as there is always something flowering in Redland City. This current batch (extracted weekly) is from Alexandra Hills - but majority is Ironbark based (maybe 50%).

A lot of consumers get picky about their honey as when it is collected from the nectar of one specie of tree, it can be sickly sweet, or too rich. Redlands Variety honey is never like that!

Fans of candied honey will be impressed as of March when the Paper Bark Tea Tree flowers (Melaleuca) for a deliciously Caramel flavour and super quick granulation!

        • Interesting. In southern Victoria early last month the Melaleucas put on quite a display. Anyone lucky to be down the coast would have loved the paperbark covered by snow in summer, and all the parrots hanging around for the big nut eucalypts.

Gather you have a grey ironbark though from what i see redlands is coastal.

        • @cornbeef: Grey Ironbark for sure, with the occasional Mugga splashed in between!

It has been too hot to get much out of the last flowering of Melaleuca, but in the coming months, we should get a great yield. If the parrots are into it, there must be a lot there!

    • Raw Honey stocked in a Woolworths Store? I would love to see proof of that. Please post a photo or some link to prove that it's raw as that is unheard of in Qld. Most honey in health food shops isn't even raw!

    Fixed.

    • Enter Sandman? Maybe a new variety of honey to market?

Well, it sure fits with a nice mug of warm milk & honey! ;)

  • you spelled your own business name wrong in the title. Great start!

    • Nope, that was my fault :/

      • accidentally hit the spackbace yek…

Haha, thanks for the edit! :)

  • Can you please confirm what variety of tree flavours the honey please?

    • The current batch is from the Alexandra Hills area. This batch will be predominantly ironbark, with hints of Ivory Curl. Because the hives are in suburbia the variety is always smooth and beautifully palatable due to the huge variety of herbs, fruit and vegetables grown in the surrounding suburbs!

      • Lionel - thanks for the great tasting honey. As I emailed earlier, my Father & I couldn't resist dipping our fingers in the honey as soon as it arrived, happily licking it up. Can't ever remember doing that with store bought honey, only do that when it's straight from the hives.

Fresh raw honey is best. Also enjoying your honeycomb. And your service was so good. Really impressed :-)

        • My absolute pleasure! Thank you so much for your kind words!
