Pretty good deal, cheapest I've seen this close to release date. Should be able to price match at EB and other places. They also have FFXIII for the same price if you browse RPG's.

I'm gonna check it out. If its Australian PAL, I'm gonna come back and positive this deal.
Nope, the majority of their releases are not from australia, usually cheaper to just order direct from zavvi or the hut
I just wanna check out God of War and MLB 2K10. If they're Australian PAL, then awesome. I don't worry about the majority not being from Australia so long as the listed deal here is.
They obviously wouldn't be Aus PAL versions, by looking through the whole site they are all EU versions.
Aren't they the exact same things though? I thought the only difference was the ratings sticker.
up and atom is right.
The difference is not just the rating sticker… Think about single player games like Final Fantasy. If you finished the game and don't really want to keep it in your collection, you get $55-$60 AT LEAST if you trade them to local stores. You can get that amount from Ebay as well for Australian copies. For imported ones, unless you're lucky, local stores won't accept them and if you mention that the game is imported, then on eBay the value drops as well.
Just get EB games to match.
Nice find. Why would they price match if its not Australian copy of the game?
One could pray for ignorance.
I find it unlikely that they would notice. I got them to price match the US Kmart or target or something once (it was an accident though, didn't realize it was the US store until I got home!).
Sadly the people working in Melbourne CBD for Ebgames and JbHiFi aren't that ignorant…
@ragflan: Even the female ones? (Sorry for the sexism)
In other news they do have Demon's Souls for $74 if you pay cash, that game is an import only and in my opinion one of the best games on ps3.
One of the hardest too.
I'm going there soon, I'll let you guys know if they have any Australian copies or if they're all imported.
I don't understand why would the PAL Australia games be more expensive than any other games from arround the world especially from the UK that have so much more reasonable prices. For the very same game which the PS3 is region free for games. I am all for importing the games and buying EU games.
They're all imported. Some of the Xbox games are NTSC-J but they have the Australian Content Rating System sticker plastered on. They're not Australian copies. Just imported copies and the store plastered the Australian Rating sticker on them.
Having said that, like hyperwave said (AND if you don't care about trade value at local stores or you're buying to keep the game), importing games is always cheaper.
I went to Adrenalan and bought MLB 2K10 for $49 ($54 but $5 off if you pay by cash). That's relatively cheap considering that most UK Stores don't have the game yet and others like 365games are selling it for $44 pounds. That's almost $73 dollars (around the same as PlayAsia).
All games displayed for sale require Australian OFLC classification, otherwise you can be fined. EB games will trade-in imported games, if they don't its probably the managers preference.
FFXIII is definitely imported from UK. Didn't find God of War III but I'm sure it's imported as well. The guy at the counter didn't know if the game would be in by tomorrow or not.
Just so you guys know, price matched at Dick Smith. Getting Aussie version.
ditto on the price match at DSE.. $79 done.
Anyone managed to get it price matched at EB?
EB's won't price match anything from Adrenalan because their games are imported and most of the prices are below their cost.
Thought so. Just hoped that maybe when the place first opened, EB may not have known this. PS. good work reviving an oldish bargain
You guys got DSE to price match? nice work. I went in there, they told me that matching $79 is under cost and wouldn't do it for me.
The EB's (and JB's) i went to (that were not in the city) said they would only match whatever was in the centre (ie not this deal). I did ask the City JB Hi Fi who were willing to match it, as long as there was stock.
too bad it's melbourne only
and the cover for FFXIII is for overseas (i think UK), wonder if it's aus version
