@wisc: Wow you guys are phenomenal! We are just here to offer users on this site who might own a business the opportunity to have their business featured on our website for free. I understand you don't own a business but others might and find free advertising attractive for their business.
@iyum: yeah, I agree others might have a business, but the idea of this site is that you have a bargain, eg, different to normal, or cheaper than someone else… what you should have said… (from your page, and even then you'd probably get negged) register free and be in the draw for a xyz….

And rating businesses to win a prize - really - how do we know any business you have is not being rated by someone associated with the business. Looking at your ratings on some of the businesses they get 5 ratings from all 5 recommendations. And as you said you are a startup, so how did these 5 random people find your site, and the business to all rate it 5 stars??? Get real and people will trust you as its stands its a joke
Our site isn't just about winning prizes, it's about getting businesses rated and recommended by people and getting them to share it with their friends and family using informal social networking.
To answer your questions - The people that have been on the site are people who have used these businesses and had something to say about them. It is rated and shared on the users facebook profile. Obviously our businesses have been telling their customers to go on and have a look and have their say. As a start-up, we have been around for a few months in this format and in R&D for the last 9 months.
Who has a website that sits idle with no promotions/marketing??? Do you really think we are only waiting on this avenue only to have visits? I do appreciate the feedback and wonder if I could ask what your profession is?
So Pete, if your mate says that they had a good or bad experience at place and you saw their comments on your social network, I'm guessing you don't trust what they have to say either??? Essentially we want to help businesses promote themselves and have their customers return to have their say. Therefore generating good word of mouth and building trust within the community. If you think that its only cool to bag things out and say negative things about businesses, I respect that. It is true what they say that happy customers are not always vocal but dissatisfied customers will always let the world know. I guess we want to change that and bring the happy customers a platform to support local businesses and help local industries.

and those people who reviewed the site only joined and put 1 review on the site for "Attard Automotive"…from its easy to draw the conclusion this guys gone and put his own reviews in to make himself look better.
extremely dodgy,this system lends itself to being abused.
I was calling around to get a RWC, this guy lost my business, no way i'm going to drop my car off to someone with little to no morals. didn't even bother calling him.
