This the same deal as the Harvey Norman one, like a week ago?

    • -1

Agreed, this deal was available at Harvey Norman as late as this afternoon, its even been on TV. The HN dude said these TVs are being cleared like crazy to make way for new stock….

      • +6

No this is the g10 not the s10 that was at HN this 600Hz field as opposed to 550Hz this is the better model $200 more

        • -5

          Sounds a bit like a person comparing a 12 megapixel camera to a 10…

          • @muzzamo: sorry , I didn't mean to neg that comment. any way to revoke?
It sounds like a reasonable observation. See more info on comparison below.

  • clive peeters…e e easy

  • +6

No, HN one was S series this is G.
G series has better panel and more expensive.

      fair point mate.

G10 is better than S10 on two fronts:
      - neo plasma screen with anti reflective thingie
      - swivel stand

      Worse on one:
More power consumption than the S series

such a generic response. have u actually worked out how much the bill difference would be yearly?

    • +2

wow you have almost caught up to 1990 with that thinking well done. Current LED LCDS yes are 3 times better then the current plasmas, but my new 54" plasma costs me $30 a quarter to run with 7 hours a day usage….When it cost me $1999 instead of $5000 for the same thing in LCD it works out a pretty good buy. I could afford either tv, but im not stupid with my money

  • The sales guy at Clive Peters said its on sale until end of weekend. But I am guessing it will be longer than that

  • friend of mine got 46" for $1200 at goodguys Sat

    • Was it a S or G?

  • Wow! This is an unbelievable deal! I thought the NH deal was already sureal. This is ridiculously cheap for a G10, considering you can sell away the blueray + quickflick very easily to mates.

plasma sux. soon there will be no plasmas only LCD

  • +2

And soon there will be no more comments by beatlebob for such making such a stupid remark….:)

    • yeah wanted to ask why he said so……… but the comments was gone……HD plasma was no good (1024 x 768) but the Full HD Plasma will be better than Full HD LCD.
Many people thought plasma was a killer in power consumption, but in general LCD uses 225W 46" , Plasma uses 420-450W 46".
so u are talking about 1 dollar difference in 5 hours of watching TV (in W.A. anyway)

correct me if I am wrong. We can learn more from each other

      • Power difference will be about 100-200 watts more for the plasma.
So it will cost 1-2 more 100W light bulbs to run per year.
Roughly, it's $50-$100 more for the plasma over an LCD.

This is if the TV was on 24/7 365 days as well.
In standby, the LCD and Plasma both use less than 1W of power.

        • From my experience of testing standby power of LCD's and Plasma TV's I have found they use anything from 15W to 47W. Around 20W seems to be the average. Size of TV does not seem to have an effect.

      • +1

I used MS6115 power meter on the pana 46" plasma, came up with ~300w.
Tested the Samsung 42" lcd in next room, ~200w.
What was worse, the Pansonic came up 17w on standby.

@spets: end of the week implied Friday to me.

  • I own a G10 and never regret buying it. The only regret is not getting a G15 which has an extra HDMI port. Plasma picture are superb.

  • I liked the G series Panasonics when I viewed them at Clive Peeters.
Much better picture over the S10.

Now that the 2010 G15A's have come out, the old G10's are being heavily discounted.

Weird to see that Clive Peeters are selling the 42S10 and 42G10 for the same price- $998.

  • I got the 46" S10 delivered on the weekend, and it looks awesome and for the price ($1150) puts a smile on my face every time I look at it ;)

  • This price makes me wish i was in the market for a new TV. Can't really afford, still using a 20" CRT flat screen. :(
Awesome deal. I can't believe it's a Panasonic Neo Plasma for under a grand, with free bluray player. I don't know why anyone would sell the bluray player unless they're already got one. You're silly not to make use of the Full HD screen for watching BluRay movies.

  • for those in qld, rt edwards have it and as far as i know, they will do 10% price beat

  • At 7:15 this morning (Mon 15th Mar), I followed the link to this TV and the price was $998. I added it to my cart and went to checkout, but the price at checkout was $1649! When I went back to the original link, the price was then showing as $1649. Looks like I missed out by a whisker! I have contacted the merchant to request that they honour the price that was showing and that I added to my cart.

    • i doubt they would honor it. everyone could say that they saw it at the special price, but like the rep said it ended last night. The price had to be updated sometime, just so happened to be while you were trying to purchase it.

  • -2

The link says $1649, not $998…

    • Deal updated as sold out. Negative removed.

  • The deal ended last night…

  • Yep, deal's finished - better update the link.

  • just wish this is not wrong online price, like Dell did many times.

    • It was the right price, too bad deal finished on Sunday night

  • Thank You Aussman, unbelievable and I ordered one straight away. A moments panic when the website would not load! I love this site!!

    • no prob always on the look out for good deals
