Chemist Warehouse - LH-X1 2.4g 6-Axis Gyro Quadcopter $14.99 (Comparison: GearBest ~ $37)

100

I was in Chemist Warehouse (Beaumont St, Newcastle) and saw they now sell quad-copters in their toy section. I'm assuming they are available nationally.

The LH-X1 doesn't have headless mode, but does have a quick swap battery and at 140 x 140 mm, it's much larger, and easier to fly than micro quads.

TIL Chemist warehouse has a toy section. A lack of headless mode is the real killer here.

    • yeah they do. last year i bought my son building blocks for 3 dollars which he still plays with today LOL

    • what is headless mode??

      • Basically means no front. So you can use the joystick to fly it in any direction easily. Without it you have to rotate the quadcopter to go forwards in another direction. It can be difficult to maintain height while trying to turn it as some of them turn very slowly.

    So they bought Dick Smith….

  • What a time to be alive!

  • takes about 30mins charging time for 5mins flying time give or take (best to leave it on till the charge light goes out). But fun for a beginner to learn on, you need to sort out trim levels for it to hover/fly and then it's becomes much easier to use, it has programmed buttons for barrel rolls. There's also spare blades.

Just check that the blades are the correct ones for the position they're in, I found one had an incorrect pair of blades and it would never lift off the ground, checking the manual I discovered they were the wrong ones.

Last little nit pick, if you have two of these you can't play in the same area. Master1 was training with his and Master2 had connected his battery and it took off as it was under control of Master1's remote running on 2.4Ghz wireless. Suffice to say that sucked. But they were fun, still are.

That sounds like you haven't paired them correctly.

      • did one at a time so don't know how to do it any differently.

        • Switch off ALL of them (copters and controls), disconnect all drone batteries. Leave the copters unpowered for as long as possible, so they will forget their old binding assignments.

Put batteries into one only transmitter and drone… bind that one, and test.

Then switch off and disconnect battery from the drone.

Next, power up and bind the second controller to the second drone.

You should have 2 of them on 2 different (randomly selected) "channels".

  • Looks like a hubsan clone, good price for $15
