Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Chinese ROM

Thinking of buying one of these from eglobal, but its only available with the Chinese ROM at the moment. According to what I have read the main difference is that it won't have the google Apps and will have some Chinese apps that can either be deleted or ignored. eglobal say that it would come with google play and I can download any of the google apps I want so it sounds ok. Also read that the Chinese ROM gets updates sooner. Nobody seems to know if a global ROM is planned at this stage.

Anyone have experience using Xiaomi devices with the Chinese ROM? Anything to worry about?

    Unfortunately websites are supplied with phones that occasionally have malware preinstalled on the ROM. Sometimes it can be removed with an AV app and sometimes the only way is to flash a new ROM.

    While the official global ROM isn't out yet, there are some unofficial ROMs that have everything in English released on the mi forums.

    stick your own rom on it. there plenty of instructions / videos on the internet that will take you through it step by step after the appropriate bricking warnings.

    there is no global rom for MTK version. Probably never will be from the official site.
