Hey guys just found this deal from banggood. Manker is a top brand they make a lot of flashlight for other companies.
They also have a full range of flashlight under the Manker branding they are quality! banggood has this for half price so it seems like a good deal usually $75 AUD. Gearbest has the light for $55 AUD and dx has it for $47 AUD

So i know not every one needs a powerful torch but seeing the price and features you can not beat it!

HAS A BUILT IN CHARGER FOR 18650 BATTERIES! so any one that was looking at the Nitecore range with the built in charger maybe consider this seeing as the price is so good!

But be careful some people had cells overcharging to 4.25v and some had cells charging to 4.18v i am not sure what to think. maybe be on the safe side and use protected 18650 cells on! ALWAYS CHECK VOLTAGE WITH MULTIMETER!

You said: "But be careful some people had cells overcharging to 4.25v and some had cells charging to 4.18v i am not sure what to think. maybe be on the safe side and use protected 18650 cells on!"

Note that protection circuit in protected 18650 will NOT PROTECT against OVERCHARGING, & overcharging IS DANGEROUS & damages the battery.

    • +1

depending on what cells they do. some have a max voltage of 4.22-4.25 volts

      • AGAIN: the protection circuit in a Protected 18650 will NOT PROTECT against overcharging.

        • +1

so protected cells are only to prevent discharging (eg torch on full blast hours have passed and it will disable more drain)

        • @thelastnoob: no matter its never safe to overcharge! normal voltage is around 4.20 volts but over charge voltage is around 4.25v
But depending on cells some cells charge to 4.35v
Some batteries will terminate the charge by disconnecting the plus terminal thus the battery is unusable again!

        • +1

@thelastnoob: i have samsung cells that are protected and i used them in the klarus CH1 to test the charge voltage. it went up to 4.23v and stopped some people charging none protected cells had readings of 4.30v….
But yet these lads charge standard 4.20v 18650 to 4.40v every time? NOT RECOMMENDED

  • what are those torches like? anyone have one?

the details dont mean much to me, is it any good?

    • they are a good brand and super bright and a good price. do you need a torch for any thing specific?

      • mostly into looking inside PCs
        and general use

        • Probably to much power you would need to use this on low setting but it would more then do the job!

        • @aussieprepper:
          Thanks :)

  • Any recommendations on batteries (and where to buy)?

  • Is this torchlight suitable for road cycling? How long can the battery last each charge?

    • It has it written on the output modes to the side.
It all depends on what mode you have it on and your mounting options?
      how long are your rides?
I think this would be okay because it seems to be a floodlight beam so it should be wide.
It is a small light So you won't be able to use turbo mode all the time it will turn itself down.
      Modes: Low:30lumens;150h
      Mid:180lumens;8h
      High:450lumens;4h
      Turbo:960lumens;1.5h
      Strobe:960lumens

    • In a word…NO
Get a bike specific light. The beam pattern will be much better suited.

      • +1

not fully true because most bike lights are made with the reflector system. This is a spill beam it has a wide shallow reflector thus the lights max distance is 180m so its mostly spill

  • How much better would this $36 AUD Manker be then the $9 USD Ultrafire?

    http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_15293.html

Other than the built-in charging capability (which I personally don't like), how much better is it for 3 times the money?

I have the $9 USD job and I'm very happy with it.

I guess the cheaper one is only IPX6 rated versus IPX7 - that does make a difference…
