    Interesting terminology. It's "new" but refurbished by Panasonic Australia. I thought new implied out of the factory. I must be behind the times.

    55 kg! WTF is in it? Lots of glass? Wonder what the power draw is.

    Also a RS232C interface? For use as a dumb terminal? I should pair that with an awesome AT keyboard.

      55KG is more than likely the cubic shipping weight (or the store bumping up weight as a sneeky way of making more margin), the actual weight of the screen is 14-16.5KG (depending on whether the stand is used)

      The serial port is for external control, think video walls etc since this a comercial grade screen.

        Yes you are 100% correct - but I object to the comments about us being sneaky….. If you would care to investigate - its the way TNT SPECIALISED SERVICES (as all courier companies we use) calculate their charges.

        Yes this is a commercial grade HD screen - and hence why it has 2 YEARS warranty as opposed to the standard ONE year offered for Domestic use products.

        Not FULL HD - but HD none the less. Perfect for a Bedroom screen or the like.

      As for 55kg - it is the CUBIC capacity of the box - Ie Commercial freight carriers "cube" up freight -

      Please note, that the shipping weight is not the item weight. Couriers use a "cubic" weight equivalence which is based on the dimensions of the packed item.

    You would struggle to find a quality LCD like this for that price from someone who has used it for years.
    Im seriously considering one for an extra screen for the PC to watch movies/tv on the side….
    Hmmmm $478 delivered to Vic.

    i wouldnt…old stock and mainly commerical use no tuner and no speakers not so good.
    for 400 ill rather wait for sale of full hd monitor at 27"

      My son-in-law purchased one of these (with a HD set top box) for about $100 more than this - very good screen and it does have speakers :)

    I'm sure that you can get 24 inch monitors at full HD 1920/1080 or 1920/1200 resolutions at around the 400 price range. But probably not as many input options.

    Also, it is NEW or is it REFURBISHED? It can't be both, if its new it came directly out of the factory, if its refurb, it was at the hand of a consumer then sent back to get repaired.
