Free Calendar at Priceline - Includes a Coupon for Each Month in 2016

1460

Next time you're in Priceline, pick up a free calendar.

  • The photos of tourist spots around the world are quite nice.
  • Public holidays, school holidays, and phases of the moon are listed (for my fellow loonies).
  • A one-page 2017 calendar is included.

But best of all, the calendar contains a coupon for each month of 2016. I've listed them here in case anyone needs to refer to them in future.

  • Jan: $5 off a $40 spend
  • Feb: $5 off a $60 spend on skincare
  • Mar: 100 points for a $35 spend
  • Apr: $5 off a $45 spend on haircare
  • May: $5 off a $50 spend on fragrance
  • Jun: $5 off a $40 spend on cosmetics
  • Jul: $5 off a $100 spend on vitamins
  • Aug: $5 off a $35 spend on cosmetic accessories
  • Sep: $5 off a $40 spend on cosmetics
  • Oct: 100 points for signing up to Sister Club
  • Nov: 100 points for a $35 spend on haircare
  • Dec: $5 off a $40 spend on confectionery.

Not the greatest deals around, but it might save you $5 here and there. I'll definitely use December's deal!

Coupons can only be used once. One coupon per customer. Coupons that have been reproduced, altered, damaged or obtained fraudulently are invalid.

Please refer to the real-life coupons in the calendar for all other terms and conditions.

and phases of the moon are listed

So everybody knows when the bad drivers are on the road…

P.S. These coupons have barcodes (for use in-store) but do not have coupon codes (for use online).

I usually do my Priceline shopping online via the Cash Rewards portal (current cashback is 6.2%), but usually have to do a big shop to get free shipping.

These coupons would be useful for smaller spends in-store.

  • +1

Do we have to ask for them?

    • Usually the Priceline catalogues are at the front of the store, but I didn't seen the calendars there. I only saw them up at the cash register, so yes, you may have to ask for one.

      • "I didn't seen the calendars there." Damn, this typo is still bugging me.

    • Only once a year

What's the bargain? The calendar or the coupons?

Because the coupons are not freebies, the require a purchase.

If you want a free calendar, you local butcher, fruit shop, deli, will have one.

    • I asked in Coles & Woolies and they showed me the ones for sale.

        I didn't say 'supermarkets'…

        • +9

But they're my local fruit shop, deli & butcher.

        • @supabrudda:

But they're my local fruit shop, deli & butcher.

          How sad for you…

@jv: if only the hovt would deregulate the pharmaceutical industry, they could be my local Priceline pharmacy too!

          Happy NY JV

    • Any free calendars featuring bad driver dates?

    • That's true, but I can't resell the meat, fruit and smallgoods on eBay for a profit, which I do with the Priceline/Chemist Warehouse/Amcal deals.

      • That's true, but I can't resell the meat, fruit and smallgoods on eBay for a profit

No purchase is required, at least not at our local ones…

    • +1

Hey JV, if you want to get pedantic, the coupons ARE free to obtain. A purchase is only required when you want to use them LOL.

You're an experienced poster but I'm not. Go easy! Smiley-face etc.

it might save you $5 here and there

Disagree. It would save to stay away from Priceline as they are overpriced. In some instances selling stuff above RRP.
Case in point: Qv Kids Moisturising Cream 100g was a cash back thing up to RRP a while back. RRP being $8.99.
Priceline were (and still are) selling it for $9.29 (see https://www.priceline.com.au/qv-kids-moisturising-cream-100-…).
Chemist warehouse have the same product for $7.39 (http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/43073/Ego-QV-Kids-Cre…)

Not the only example: Dettol Antiseptic: RRP $9.69, Chemist Warehouse $7.99 (http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/Buy/31120/Dettol-Antisept…), Priceline adds a bit on top: $9.99 (https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/dettol/dettol-antiseptic-…)

Dove deo, RRP $4.99, Chemist Warehouse do it for $3.99 (http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/54356/Dove-Deodorant-…) and Priceline do it for $5.49 (https://www.priceline.com.au/brand/dove/dove-anti-perspirant…).

The number of instances where you pay at least RRP at priceline is astounding. And the service sure doesn't warrant it.
What's worrying is that a lot of pharmacies are turning into a priceline, slowly becoming a monopoly. Need a LOT of vouchers before it's a deal in this place.

    • Thanks for the extra info, Martijn, very useful. But rest assured, I am not loyal to Priceline only. I definitely shop around online first.

Surprisingly, Amcal has the cheapest RRP on a product that I need for a health condition, so I stock up every now and then (when they email me a coupon, and through CR cashback of course).

And I shop at CW for my favourite QV product, because the RRP is cheapest there (and they often give you a bonus size for the same price). (That 100% cashback offer was nice, wasn't it!)

BUT, I can't resist the Priceline goody bags. OK, they're not entirely free as they are a gift-with-purchase, but I have noticed that the participating product ranges are often on special at the same time, e.g. 30-40% off.

E.g. I think I spent $40 on haircare a year ago (I got $80 worth of shampoo/conditioner at half price), then got a huge bag full of haircare products. They don't go off quickly, so they'll last me for ages.

And I was very happy with the deal I did on my birthday in Nov. I had a $14 voucher from points accrued, and a $5 voucher for my birthday. I think I got over $300 of freebies (on top of what I paid for, which were all well-discounted anyway) which have been selling very well on eBay.

      • +1

how can Amcal have cheapest RRP?
There is only one RRP - cheap or otherwise and Amcal sells at RRP unlike CW

        • Good point LOL. What I meant to say was, the usual standard not-on-special price at CW is cheaper than prices at other places. (But I usually buy a big 1L bottle when it's on special anyway and it lasts me for ages.)

      • Is that the QV 1.25L wash? I use it everything except brushing my teeth!

    • Question is, why are you buying things at RRP???

      • It's one of the very few things I pay RRP for. I used to buy it from a company that provides supplies for people with disabilities (which apparently meant it was GST-free) until I discovered that Amcal sold it heaps cheaper, even at RRP. Specialist company = $23.95 pack. Amcal = $18.95 pack. Never on special anywhere, but I get cashback and use vouchers.

        • My comment was in reply to Martijn rather than you. The stuff he listed are quite general stuff.

        • @Ughhh: No worries. I think Martijn was just trying to make the point that on the whole CW prices are heaps better than P/Line prices. Which is true!

But regarding the Amcal item, I was so surprised to find that item at that price. I would never have thought of looking there. I only did because C/Rewards pointed me in that direction.

Just goes to show, bargains can be found everywhere … well … in most places … if you look for them.

        • @JoFord63:

If looking at regular prices, CW is better. Some times Priceline can have good sales, where their sale price is better than CW regular price.

      • I don't. I use this to show how expensive PL is.

    • All you have to do is ask them to match the price, they will never hesitate to do so! I am both a loyal customer of PL and CW, I'll tell you why. CW has amazing prices but no loyalty reward program. Priceline does and every quarter, you get a coupon for $ off your next purchase if you've accumulated points. Toiletry items (esp hair stuff and grooming products) PL way surpasses CW for choice. The times I have found cheaper prices for the exact product, PL has never hesitated to price match (my Amcal does it too). If I can get Priceline to match a lower price and at the same time gain reward points for shopping there, I know which of the 2 places I will be shopping at. BTW, PL pharmacies will also match CW's lower script prices.

  • Does it have the week starting on a Sunday or Monday?

    • First column is Sunday and has a shaded background, Monday to Friday have a white background, and the last column is Saturday with a shaded background.

      • Thanks for the info, Monday is my preferred starting day.

So they too can get an upvote like the one you havnt yet given the op?

        • It's all about the upvotes

        • +4

@burrt: Is it? Maybe it is. I posted this (my first front-pager) after I read the 2015 stats at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229339.

I realised that I had used OzBargain an awful lot in 2015, but hadn't really contributed much. I thought I'd give it a go.

Now you've got me wondering if I only did it for a plus sign!

        • I didn't give the OP a vote because I haven't gotten in on the deal.
with 146 votes is there any point in adding more? the deal already has enough to warrant attention.
besides that, it looks like people aren't finding the calendars when they go in store anyway.

2573 clicks and 146 votes, there are many more people who didn't plus this deal but have been interested.

        • @Sage: I feel bad that people have missed out. I will post more promptly next time.

As a newbie poster, it has been interesting learning more about the posting/commenting/voting process. Now that I am aware that people really value the votes, I'll make sure I vote more often. Thanks all for your comments.

  • Yeah, doesnt look like ballarat stores had calendars nor waurn ponds shopping centre

  • I don't like the Priceline bonus points compared to bonus points from other loyalty programs.

If I manage to get 2000 flybuys bonus points they get added to my account as normal and I can redeem them for $10 flybuys dollars. Flybuys and other loyalty programs don't discriminate between bonus points and regular points when it comes to redemptions.

Priceline bonus points can't be used until you have enough base points to get something. You have to have at least 100 base points to make a redemption and then the bonus points get added on to the redemption amount. The bonus points also don't increase the percentage of the redemption. You are supposed to get 4% redemption when you reach 200 points, not 3%. I managed to get to 200 points using one of the March coupons (100 points) from last year but when it came to redemeption time I only got a 3% redemption not a 4% redemption.

Their loyalty program is okay but not as good as some other programs.

  • I didn't get the calendar but wondering if the codes are generic? If yes can anybody let me know the code for this month - $5 off $40? I assume it can be used online?

    • Sorry, not for online use and no coupon codes. Need the real coupon to redeem in-store.

      • I see, damn …. Thanks for responding Jo.
