Good deal if you are stocking up on cider
Not for the fainthearted this cider, it certainly isn't of the sommersby, three oaks strongbow ilk. Quite astringent. Still good value though.
Care to elaborate before I buy two?
So its real cider then? Not this sweet lolly water stuff?
Made with 100% Jachmann estate grown apples, this is as pure as cider gets. Hand grown, pruned and picked by the Jachmann family in South Australia, this delicious cider has an attractive red hue from the skins, a fine bead and a crisp clean flavour.
Similar to Bilpin?
I'd say it would not be fizzy… if it is real cider.
Dont forget CashRewards has 6.7% cash back on cider.
Brings the cost down to ~$70.
I'll grab a bottle tonight and see what its like before committing to two cases though.
Yes please, would love some incider knowledge….
I see what you did there…
8% cashback at Shopandmint. You might actually recieve the cashback too.
Doubt it..still waiting for mine.it's been more than two months.
Been waiting years for Cashrewards too. Some transactions haven't even gone through.
@ShamelessBargains:
I find Cashrewards are quicker ,the email confirmations come through within minutes.
@nocure: Yeah the tracking is instant but the payouts take awhile. Would be handy if they had an estimated time period for payout to be received.
Good quality dry cider. Ain't no cordial in fizzy water, like some other "ciders".
I got the same deal before Xmas and have drank about 12 of these bottles, it's nothing like Bilpin it's very very sour, I don't mind it but it's not your typical cider, it's a good price but I wouldn't buy this again.
PS I wouldn't call this a dry cider it's not sweet but it's not really dry either.
How does this compare to Kirin Cider which I luv. Dont mind the sourness as long as it is not overly sweet.
It's dry, not sour with very little sweetness. I'd say it's less sweet than a regular Bulmers and more crisp.
Thanks, picked up 2 cases.
Same price as the previous deal in December- www.ozbargain.com.au/node/224224
ciders are dime a dozen and cheap s chips - some better than others and some you can and cant stomach after a dozen or so. if the price is good against its rrp then its a good deal, but personally ill stick to my mercury hard ciders..
Bought these last offer in december.
2.7 standard drinks for the 500ml bottle.
Solid investment for $3.12 each.
Only issue is that shipping is direct from supplier so can be a bit slow.
Otherwise….cheers!
cheers, bought! big fan of cider, particularly french cider/perry, in a more champagne style. interested to see what this is like!
Cheers bought two cases, with cashrewards and wish gift cards comes to about $66.50 for 24m that is about $1.03 a standard drink!!
If you're only worried about the price per standard drink, buy bags of wine.
You can't buy bags of cider though
Also, expect a letter in the mail from Jachmann in the coming days, don't get too excited like i did it's just them trying to flog off another estate's wines…
Why were you exited anyway?
I tried these in December, certainly different to many of the off-the-shelf ones. I liked it and at 7% alcohol content, much stronger than most.
On Friday Dan Murphys advised my cider is on the way
For anyone who finds this in the future. My order was placed on 7/1. It is now the 19th and no cider. Apparently I was not home for delivery on the 15th. The camera shows the card being dropped in the letter box with no attempt to turn up at the door. I have to wait another 4 days for it to arrive. Slow delivery and crap courier. This is my last dan murphys connections order.
that sucks.
FWIW, i got mine delivered to work, and it came a week or two ago (i forget). no issues with delivery. however, be careful with the box handles - one of the handles of the box snapped under the weight, and caused me to drop a case of cider on my foot causing a small fracture. nice one.
in terms of the cider:
-Royal Gala: a nice medium dry sparkling cider. goes down well, quite easy to drink.
-Lady William: wow, you guys weren't wrong about being sour/astringent. a more acquired taste. probably nice on a hot day.
at this price, would buy again! would like to try their Pink Lady too.
I called dans and cancelled the order, they were pretty good about it. The courier was Next Day Couriers. Hardly next day but that's my first encounter with them.
And that price would be????? in the title please.
