Not really. Lars was against people stealing their music, not the right of artists to give music away if they choose to. That's like saying it's ironic that a store is advertising buy one get one free when just last week they charged someone for shoplifting.
The thing about them destroying Napster was that napster was a great source of obscure music that can't be sourced anywhere else, and acoustic bootlegs. Sure, block illegal downloads but don't block the legal or quasi-legal ones.
Lars is and always will be an utter asswipe for that.
