done :)
5 year Warranty useless if their gonna go belly up soon which looks very likely.
I can tell you its useless anyway. Months on and all they do is ask another seemingly random question every few weeks. No insurance payment. Nothing but trouble. Not to mention you will also be out of pocket hundreds of dollars to get comprehensive damage and repair quotes. Save your time and hard earned money and go with a reputable make like Belkin.
I had my DS 8 port board die recently (shorting out and causing circuit breaker in house to flip), went in there and they happily replaced it. They were happy to refund what i'd paid, but I wanted another board, so they replaced it.
I'd had it for 3 years before it broke.Im not sure about compensation for damaged equipment though…
I suggest you go back and take a photo of the actual product instead of the price tag V_V
And the point of that would be…?
I have 3 or 4 of this, have it for few years, no issue at all. It is a good product.
Well good luck with any claim you may have to make when connected equipment is damaged.
To be fair, there's not many boards that could actually protect against a direct strike of lightning (and not many company's that would actually pay out on a board costing less than $100)
Surely you'd be better off getting some sort of house and contents insurance to protect against these kinds of things?I'm sorry, is your entire comment speculatory?
I expect the warranty that was sold to me for a premium as I bought 3 Dicksmith surge boards at $40 each. I am going to stomp them through any means of appeal against dismissing a legitamate and substantiated claim.
People have had great service regarding warranty on other brands. Please clarify what exact products you are referring to.
Picked one up at Top Ryde on Saturday. Not the easiest to find when its mixed in with the other DSE 8 way surge boards when they are basically the same except for the price.
These products are simply insurance, they don't expect to protect your property against lightning or extreme power surges. The product costs less than $5 to make, the rest of the money is for them to pay on insurance firms to pay out if your products are then damaged.
If the company isn't around to pay out on claims, it is a useless product. Except for the extra plug sockets of course.
They don't pay now anyway. They conveniently lose all correspondence and just make up stories. I suggest going elsewhere for a reputable brand that has a good track record.
Be aware that these don't have separate switches for each point, if they did I would have jumped on the last one at DSE Warrawong today.
Would have gladly bought it, had they included USB charging ports. I bought 2 of these from Ebay
