Best Low fee Credit Card for Rental Car Excess ?

Hi Guys, I have been trying to search for a decent and low fee credit card that provides me Rental Car Excess Insurance. I have looked at different credit cards offered by Westpac, Bankwest, NAB, ANZ …. Many of these cards have confusing terms and conditions. Most specify a minimum spend limit, some specify purchase of return airfare tickets to activate rental car insurance… which is not what I want. I often use rental cars and looking for a credit card which will automatically offer me insurance even when I spend $35 for a 1 day car rental.

When I was in the US, I had an AMEX, which provided me this insurance. No strings attached. Book any rental car (1 day or 1 month) with AMEX, insurance cover gets applied automatically.

Wondering if there is any similar product here in Australia ? Any ideas/suggestions …. ?

P.S. I am already aware of companies like 1cover, tripcover etc …. not interested in those.

    Doubt there is any card that provides unlimited car rental insurance without conditions.

    Citibank Signature gives you $2250 excess cover but you need to have booked the return flights on the card. And the trip has to be less than 2 weeks

    some westpac cards give you cover (up to $5500) for excess.

    You can get the 1st year's annual fee waived by applying online apparently (check their site)
