Nope it's perfectly legal for a retailer to deny sale on a pricing error.
Genuine price errors they can cancel the sale. AS long as it was not deliberately deceptive and they corrected the error within a reasonable time i.e didn't let it go on for days. I would say they saw a sudden rush of orders come in at $12 and corrected it pretty quick here, so no deception and no obligation to complete the transaction.

I don't think it was a pricing error. The $12 stock was from Australia but the $122 stock is from the UK. I also got a confirmation email saying it's been processed.
Maybe there was an error and it was meant to say UK stock in the first place. Sounds like some one at The Nile totally screwed it up in more ways than one.

For those that missed out, Amazon has it, delivered to Australia about $60 AUD. $10 cheaper than local (Angus and Robertson). Alternatively I think Kmart sells them for $12 a book.

Haven't had an email cancellation, but if you log into the website and check your 'Orders' page, it will show as cancelled.
Mine still shows as processing… might be a case of it slowly being cancelled one by one…

The Nile is shocking for pulling the "sorry, but we can't supply the item you ordered" crap. Both of my last two orders, neither of which were pricing errors, ended in cancellation due to being unable to be fulfilled. Seems their communication between their web and warehouse team is non-existant.
