Too bad it's from Dick Smith so 3-4 weeks after ordering you'll just get an email saying sorry there is not stock.
Made 7 separate orders with them during the first week of December.
1 was delivered (this one was from their website, the rest from their ebay store), 1 cancelled and refunded, 5 stuck in limbo and I've now had to resort to opening paypal disputes as they won't respond or refund.
Almost 4 weeks later and they still have a couple grand of my money. Negative vote is for issue with retailer, not the price of the items. There is a good chance that you will get nothing and are simply providing an interest free loan to Dick Smith during their difficult financial situation.
I don't think there is a good chance of this happening (greater than 50% chance). If there were there would be 100's of people venting like you and there ebay rating would be at rock bottom. I would say there is a small chance (less than 1% chance) of things going pear shaped. Although it isn't good enough that they haven't refunded you and have had to open up a dispute.
They clearly have problems though, I was the beneficiary. I purchased 5 of an item, they delivered 3, but for some reason charged me only for 3 and then refunded me for 2. So I effectively paid for one.
I'm guessing you haven't paid much attention to their Facebook page? Literally 100's of people complaining about their orders.
As for their eBay rating, positive feedback for the past 30 days is at 92.5% compared to 12 month average of 99.1%
Clearly something has gone very wrong in the past month and for whatever reason they are not able to refund everyone at once.
Exaggerate much?
Had same issue, went into a store and they did the refund to my PayPal.
Not impressed with the lack of stock and communication, but I think it could be resolved with a bit more effort on your part.
I think it could be resolved with a bit more effort on your part.
Are you kidding me? You have no idea how much effort I've put into this. Much more than I ever should have.
I shouldn't have to be chasing up my order and after being told they can't deliver I shouldn't have to chase up my money.
If they won't respond to emails/ebay messages and can't offer any help over the phone then the most convenient option left for me is to simply open a paypal dispute. Still takes a while as paypal provides them time to respond to the case, but at least in the end I know I will get my money back and don't have to waste my time calling or writing to them again.
Some got lucky more likely if you just went in store and some missed out, when it comes to clearance lines nothing is guaranteed, looks like you missed out, I expect to see you neg every ds deal from now on
when it comes to clearance lines nothing is guaranteed
That's a BS excuse mate. If they can't guarantee stock then they shouldn't be taking payment. It's actually illegal!
And yes I do believe I'm quite within my rights to neg every DS deal I see if they won't make the matter right with me.
@kamoi: They def stuffed up the sale I can agree there but most were able to get the stock in store but for some reason a few online orders were messed up, I even just went in store cause I knew it was basically a fire sale and when you have sales like that most retailers will have problems.
On the refund you are after I suggest you talk so facebook ds man as they have been very helpful for me in the past
Mate, I probably sounded a bit harsh unintentionally.
The same happened to me and I was furious. I waited 4 days to hear from them for a click and collect item that was supposed to be ready in 5 hours. I ended up calling in to the store since I was nearby, and was treated appallingly. No apology, and in fact I was made to feel like an idiot for thinking that I'd actually get the item since it was so popular and heavily reduced.
They could offer no explanation as to why I was able to buy an item they hadn't had in stock for three weeks, nor why I had received zero communication since the purchase.
The only positive was that they processed the refund on the spot; it still took 5 more days to hit my account.
So yeah… Frustrating experience, but a face to face did solve it.
Wow that sucks. At most I've only ever ordered Kindle Paperwhites 300ppi from DSE and never bothered for clearance items.
Spotted 1 (last one) of these in-store in Box Hill, Melbourne yesterday, checked ozbargain saw a post on it being $249 from either 24th or 26th and there being a 15% ebay connected the dots myself and CnC'ed from the store itself sometime at midnight y'day and collected today.
Dick has exhausted me yet I always go back for more.
If a dick is exhausting you, you're doing well!
An eBay vendor shows 5 GB of mobile data included (printed on the box or on a label on the same)
Does DSE's offer incl (pass thru) the 5 GB of data?
Are you talking about the 5GB You get if you activate on pre paid freedom plus?

Yeah, nah I'm not getting dicked again thanks.
Philips HTS is out of stock
Locked to Telstra?
Any deals of s5 on ebay? Missed out recently at Harvey norms
HTS out of stock! :(
This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.
Purchased HTS yesterday. Just to check called in the nominated store @Highpoint only to find out they are cancelling the orders and will refund as the no of order exceeded the allocated no of items to be sold via eBay store.
Lol .. should have learned from other ozbargainers experience. Now have to wait for the refund.
To make it worse brought the car @work paid parking fee so that I could take HTS home and enjoy the loud sounds in the eve. All loss …. Lol
That HTS seems like a lot of bang for $211.
