Wii U Batman Arkham City: Armoured Edition $12 @ EB Games

250

Just noticed this, seems pretty good value and one of the must get games for the Wii U. Noticed a whole heap of them on the table at EB.

Ha ha no not the Wii U version. It's on sale like this all the time, is generally cheap anyway and treated like garbage by its creators/distributors so much that they cancelled the DLC on it and Nintendo had to offer refunds. I mean I'm not deriding Nintendo at all here I'm just saying in terms of content and in terms of must have games on the Wii U a multiplatform game (an average one at that) with less content than its other versions is hardly a must-have.

Hmm i thought that was Origins? From what i understand Origins is the one that had cancelled DLC, however Origins had less glitches / game breaking bugs then the other versions on ps3, xbox 360.

Armoured Edition Is the Wii U version of Arkham City, which streamlined some of the grindier aspects of the detective work through gamepad usage.

I kind of feel the series peaked with the original (Arkham Asylum) and probably should have focused more on combat ideas rather then going open world…

Kind of feel Injustice is the best Batman game currently, even if its a crossover Super-hero game.

WHOOPS yeah it is Origins I was talking about. Disregard that (it wasstill shitty of them, though.)

The PC version od Origins had all sorts of problems which WB flat refused to fix because they were too busy creating DLC… for Origins. Of course, this was all before Steam's refund policy.

      Is it really that bad?

I generally dont go by reviews personally. There is generally ad revenue affecting the reviews of these type of games, especially after the success of Arkham Asylum and the modern Batman movies receiving alot of praise for grit, realism. Modern Reviews don't necessarily focus on fun, more-so on scope or nitpicks.

But from what i've seen and heard from some feedback, it made some of the less interesting aspects of Arkham City a bit more enjoyable through the gamepad. I thought Arkham City on 360 was sort of okay, just not really my kind of open world game personally. Felt like they could have done more with the open world genre, felt a bit like Assassins Creed, very similar in nature to alot of open world games that go for scale over creative gameplay activities.

Some felt it was a game that switched to the open world genre to garner more praise critically and commercially, at times it can make large parts of the game feel like filler. It does have some nice gameplay moments within its campaign though. Probably could have kept it self contained and maybe could have built more on the combat, different detective ideas from its predecessor (Arkham Asylum) a bit more.

It is on sale quite a lot correct. Treated like garbage? No they came up with a new edition when it could have been a straight port. Origins had cancelled dlc because or poor sales. This game had nothing cancelled. Again this is an "enhanced" version so saying it has less content is confusing. The game won game of the year awards so for many and especially batman fans i would say it is a must have if you some how missed it.

Also if you checked the listing - Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition Content – Included on disc are all previously released downloadable content: Harley Quinn's Revenge Pack, Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack.

Yep again whoops I meant Origins.

          No worries :)

Technically this is the version with the most content…

    • Nah, this is the GOTY Arkham City version with all DLC packs, Skins and Bonus Characters included.

EDIT: All good, you've already replied to your own post.

One hell of a game, more solid of an experience than Arkham Knight in my opinion. Definitely worth the $12.

      Leader!

  • I picked this up from EB months ago for 4 bucks new.

Also, aside from the fact it's been 12 bucks for months at every EB I've gone to, 12 bucks ain't even anything special.
