  Just a note on that garbage printer. I have the same model and for the life of me cannot get it to work with win 7. It does however work fine with win xp

    Drivers took about 30 minutes to install after clicking skip searching windows update on an i5 3rd gen with an ssd

  Canon MG2560 Printer $15. I bought 8 of them because the ink costs on its own so much more. Feel like a criminal having to dump 7 unused. Does not include USB cord. No wireless but makes quality scans and acts as a reasonable photo copier. Less invasive software then the similar but wireless HP for the same price. Useful software package and it looks like only the editing program looks for genuine ink installed. Manufactured in Vietnam under likely not so humane condition, likely in North Vietnam as Canon has quite a few factories between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay.

    You can refill the cartridges - there are a lot of tutorials online on how to do it without making a mess. Been refilling mine for years. Obviously print quality isn't as great but it's not like it matters that much.

  I think some officeworks accept ewaste dropoff so you dont have to feel so bad.
