InfaSecure Genesis Deluxe Harnessed Child Car Seat $189.50 BIGW

We bought one - seems like a good deal. Full 5 point harnessed up to 8 yrs so no hassles or costs with extra harness attachments etc, and piece of mind if you get in accident that the kids are in a proper harness. Fabric is quite nice too.

Seems to be a model made and branded for bigw that is the same as the Infa Secure Evolve Caprice G-Type Car Seat which sells for alot more http://www.babymode.com.au/Product/10164/Car-Seats-and-Acces…

  • Looks good (at half price what wouldnt), but not tested by this mob yet…. I'd wait, or select another tbh.

I have two seats from Infasecure and dont have any issues, but childcarseats.com.au is a terrific resource that shouldnt be ignored.

Oh, and the Evolve is definitely a different model btw (will be separately tested to the Genesis at above website).

    • A lot of new models have been released recently… and haven't undergone testing. For example, none of the current models of the Britax Sound & Sound seats have been tested.

    • It's a different model. But I'd say aside from the fabric layer…

    • An evolvebis pictured at the front of our user manual

  • Yeah its hard with the new models I guess. I'm confident that it was tested to the relevant standards by the manufacturer for now. And as its forward facing I don't think the ease of use ratings are so important. It'll strap in then the kid will buckle into the harness. I think with a convertible its good to see a few reviews first as the they always are full of compromises. The compromise with this one I can see is that is very big, comfortable and heavy which will make it hard for centre pessengers with space. Also it would be a pain to swap around between cars. Its always a compromise between side protection and the use of the back row for 3. That's the whole game I believe.

  • I got this yesterday as daughter is soon to grow out of her current one and with bub on way he can have her seat.
Used the gift card option of 10% off that they had on prior to the sale so ended up costing $171.
Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Can't find any stock left in sydney. Anyone know of any stores with stock?

    • Most of the stores i checked didnt. Top ryde, Macq, auburn all nil as of last evening. Damn online stock check is pretty useless!!

  • When we bought ours capalaba had no stock and carindale had 3 left. Big w is a bit of pain with the no rainchecks now. I'm pretty sure capalaba only had 2 when the deal started.

  • Anyone got a suggestion for a 6mth - 8 years seat that is narrow and not crazy expensive?

    • Sometime the mothers choice ones are on for around $119 at target or baby's r us.

  • I got one of these 4-8yrs pricematched at another store http://ababy.com.au/product/safe-n-sound-hi-liner-sg-expanda… has 5* rating, little poor on the side impact rating…

The difference between the Big W sold Genesis and the baby store sold Evolve is the fabric, that is the only difference. They are the same seat just with different fabric and colours. The Genesis is only sold in black and the Evolve is sold in many colours, baby stores also have the Vogue which is the faux leather version of this seat.

    • You are 100% correct.

  • I checked my local BigW if they have them in stock online and it says yes so I wasted no time to grab one. Unfortunately the guy says its out of stock (I should have called rather than relying the online stock)

He then offered me another model for half price. Its Infa Secure Luxi Royale 0-8 yrs for 189!!! So if you missed out on this Genesis Deluxe this is probably a good alternative.

    • Yeah if there doing that the rally would be great for $99.50

The main advantage of the Gensis/Evolve is the fact that it caters for extended harnessing, so you can't really compare it to the Luxi which uses a regular seatbelt once your child hits a certain point.

  • Seems to be expired. Big W website is showing the seat at full price $379
