This price is plain crazy - and fresh off the press!
The 3x Camels hasn't even updated yet, but the cheapest ever. Enjoy :)

Gimme 1. I bought a 480 GB for $245 a year ago. I feel like throwing it out a window now.
Still sticking to the 120 gb intel bought 2 years ago.
Resisted many great ssd deals on ozb. And glad i did.
Only buy an ssd when i need really one, Never buy an ssd just because its a good deal at the time.
Only way price goes is down for ssd. And it does go down quick.
It's good that you can manage a 120gb SSD. 512GB became difficult for me, 1tb is nice for now..
Depends on your uses, I survived for years on a 60GB SSD because I could just run basic apps and Windows from that, and games and stuff from a HDD (desktop PC).
If you have a laptop limited to a single drive you need to make that drive count.
@skazclaw: had a really bad experience with a patriot ssd that just died for no reason.
since that day, I still don't trust my main media all stuffed onto one SSD
still prefer SSD for OS and games and the rest on the good'ol mechanical hdd
Do you store them in the same box as the microSD cards?
Same drawer here.
along with the eneloops?
@mmd: Hmm that's not a bad idea.
Great price TA. Just keep in mind that Amazon UK are not as helpful as Amazon US with return shipping payment .
They will ask you to return it at your own cost in the event of any problems
This is why I choose to only deal with Amazon US when buying electronics and computer items
that's local shipping within UK and some EU countries
International returns are treated different. This is from experience.

Does this include international shipping? In my experience Amazon US don't organise return shipping - they only reimburse postage. Though can't imagine Amazon UK would be that different?
Amazon UK and US are different entities and operated differently.

What if you used some $200 fedex option, would they reimburse that?
USA > UK.
Wish I knew if I could fit it to my 2015 (1Tb hd) Toshiba…..and how!
Keen for a SSD for speed and battery.
No problem, it will fit
Laptop hard drive swaps are actually very easy…
why does it show £142.99? has the price changed?
They will discount the vAT in checkout
VAT is dropped upon checkout.
Will this fit an Alienware Alpha?
Yes
This is $10 better than the last 960GB deal. Highly recommend to buy if needed.
Yeah got it for $277 from the Amazon.de deal
Pretty gutted!
Just grabbed one of these. Not a bad buy. MSY is charging $403 bucks for it.
Would buy in an instant if it were a 480gb for half the price. What's the best deal for a 480gb?
you can never have enough space. Go for the 960gb :)
$179 delivered for 480GB Crucial BX200, click 8PM to see deal
http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/Boxing-Day-Sale-27th
Thanks was really excited at first, but on further inspection the BX200 seems to have cut a few corners. Check out the reviews, but basically it's two drives in one, a fast 6GB one, and the rest is really slow (80MBps write!!)
When will these be sub $200? July next year?
There is rumors that SSD's may drop to parity with Traditional HDD's in late 2016 and also some rumors that we will see crazy drops in SSD prices starting early next year.
I can relate to this theory / rumour.
Technology developing at a rapid rate. Only a matter of time when producing SSD's at even double the price of a HDD will be more profitable to the company's bottom line, but hey, who knows??
demand = more factory production = more supply = eventual price drop
mechanical HDD's production should be strictly towards 2tb and above only
Fantastic price - but do I need yet another SSD…?
Nah, not you're not gonna get me this time Ozbargain
How does this compare in performance to the Samsung 850 EVO (MZ-75E500B/AM) ? Also can this replace the internal HDD in a 2012 13" MBP.
Basically the same. Evo might be slightly ahead but in day to day use it'd be impossible to tell.
Sure can, and it would be an amazing upgrade.
The Samsung is the better drive.

Did I neeed it? No.
Was it a Boxing Day bargain? Definitely!
Couldnt resist -_-
Well if this and ~$500 of tabletop games are my only boxing day purchases, I think I'm doing okay..
Do you guys pay in AUD or GBP? Using amazon exchange i'm getting AUD278.33. Using ANZ Visa Debit card.
Ta
Choose GBP if you have a 28 degrees card.
So I should choose AUD using amazon exchange rate?
It depends on how much fees ANZ will charge you. Although amazon exchange rate is not the best, you know what you'll be charged up from at least.
You should get a 28 degrees credit card or a citibank debit card. Both have no fee on the account and charge no international transaction fees :)
Great SSD. Got it from Amazon in the last deal and used cloning software to transfer the operating/boot disk (old 240gb Sandisk) to the new 960gb drive. Painless and only took about 20 minutes.
Seems a lot faster to boot than the 240gb. Running Windows 10 and boots to login screen in about 10 secs once the bios stuff does its thing.
May i know the cloning software did you use, will it work for ubuntu?
Miray Software HDClone v4.3.6 Professional but that is windows based. For Ubuntu you might have to run specific software unless you plug both SSDs into a machine that runs Windows.
Use clonezilla
Use dd and parted.
Real programmers use butterflies:
https://xkcd.com/378/
Don't bother with that crap if you have Ubuntu, just use dd, check the man pages, it's very easy.
Nice price but I want 1024GB or 1000GB not 960GB, because we all know the usable capacity will be less on all of them :)
On windows, yes, on mac it will report the full 960GB.
I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. Normally, the OS uses the mebibyte unit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mebibyte
Hard drive manufacturers use megabyte, 1000^2 MB
Cool, well here's some info for you, basically since Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, it has been measuring hard drive sizes, the sames way hard drive manufacturers measure capacity, using the decimal system (base 10), so 1 gigabyte (GB) is calculated as exactly 1,000,000,000 bytes.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201402
http://blog.macsales.com/1852-snow-leopard-changes-they-way-…
Well, that's great for the 9.36% of the world using OSX:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_syste…
@bargainperson: Is that a dig at the number of people using an OS? What a useless piece of crap, just under 2% of people use Linux for desktop use (ignoring the almost ubiquitous use in server environments)but it's still the best operating system.
@algy:
Not a dig, just pointing out that 90% of people will have base2 format not base10
you dont need that much space really for software installing on ssd.
Hey guys, two questions:
No, the XPS13 uses a M.2. form factor drive, this one is a 2.5-inch drive. You would need something like one of these: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=m2+ssd&oq=m2+ssd&aqs=chro…
oh good. I wont need to impulse just coz it's on OzB xD
Thanks TA just ordered one C:
It doesn't want to ship to my Australian addresses.
In fact now the page says it doesn't ship to Australia in general.
I wonder if they have to honour all orders made before they changed to "Sorry, we can't deliver this item to Australia"?
I think this deal is dead now.
you don't know how to work Amazon… if you find the items sold and shipped by Amazon it's still available. just not for the discounted price. it's back up to 198 pounds
Really? I found the item in stock but it wouldn't ship to Australia. What am I missing?
i just wrote it out for you. One item can be stocked by different sellers and they show up on the right hand side of the page.
Amazon usually shows the cheapest item. So the item sold by Amazon can be on the other seller menu on the right.
You gotta make sure you got the right seller
@kazines: But doesn't everyone who clicks the deal link on this page see the same product, which should ship to the same country for everyone? That's what I thought but maybe not if I read you correctly. Oh well, thanks for the tip. I'll keep my eye out for the right seller the next time one of these deals comes by.
reported expired
Dang. I'm always too slow on these SSD deals. Keep posting them up! :)
FYI this is on again for the next 16 hours, tempted to post - but too close to a duplicate.
Expiry removed. Thanks!
Price seems to have gone back up, have expired.
Thanks. It was only for 24hrs.
WHY!? I ALREADY HAVE SO MANY SSD's LYING AROUND.
