  • Blue is sold out :(

  • For that price, yes please :)

Just ordered a Red One been looking for something cheap i can duck tape too the front of my car ahaha

  • please note it's also 'factory refurbished' but a good bargain

  • Also note that the extra battery and quick charger are only available to the first 150 units sold.

  • what a fail this item has been but for that price its a bargain. I got one when this was released and its nothing short of waste of money

    • is the quality of the video poor? eg. worse than 640x480 found on most pocket digicams?

      • It's 2x digital zoom, no optical zoom. Nuff said.

        • that says nothing about the picture quality when no zoom is used.
eg. SLR prime lenses = no zoom = the best
eg. panasonic lx3 = very small zoom range = best compact etc.

however if the picutre is worse than a regular $150-200 compact @ 640x480 then yes - that is bad quality.

        • None of these "YouTube" style cameras have optical zoom. Stop trying to compare this to a digital still camera. This is a video camera to make internet video…more or less.

        • No that doesn't mean anything in this case.

It uses a 3mp sensor, which means you can use 2x digital zoom to get 720p video without resolution loss.

          • @kimmik: In theory yes, but you need to look more closely at the specs.

            Sensor Type: 1 / 4.5-type 1.6MP CMOS
            +
Still Image Quality: 3MP (stills, interpolated)

            equals crap digital zoom.

            • @stumo: ewww interpolated lol. in that case you're totally right. digital zoom is useless for 720p.

only 128MB internal memory (and no SD card included).
Also 2x digital zoom (not optical)
and when taking stills only 3MP pictures.
For me it's not a bargain just for 720p.

    • OK, how much would you expect to pay for a video camera that does 720p?

      • Optical zooms are not usually a feature in these solid state cameras, nor is a large internal memory. That stands true for even the latest 1080p models from Samsung et.al..

The only thing to concern me (if I were in the market) would be the availability of the "quick charger" to the first 150. They may have already sold 1000 of these for all we know.

Think before you post, for this price you will not find better.
      SD cards are cheap
No one will take stills, thats not what this is for.

Video for this price is nothing short of amazing, I could link all day, but have a look for yourselves:

Admit that this is extreme imagination, but one of thousands of ideas from a durable, lightweight cam that takes great footage.

I have a HD Sony camcorder that cost >1000 and have bought one of these for mucking around on the jetski, by the pool for fun, and anytime I need durable and waterproof!! and it gets more use than the sony one.

      Cheers!

  • nulled you completely mis the purpose of this item. It's for fun quick moments you hardly need optical zoom and you especially don't need it when its mounted onto a bike or car etc

It's designed for action captures from a first person perspective, it's not a replacement to a proper handheld

Also lol SD cards are cheap as chips these days

This will be perfect for when i go snowboarding, filming track days on the R6, etc I'd rather this than my 1080 recorder exposed to the elements and speed lol

    • Which brings up another point…
What's the image stabilisation like on these?

      • Image stabilisation is a tripod ;)

Im guessing the bonus battery is done and they should remove it. That said I ordered a red one aswell for my snow holiday later in the year.

$10 more expensive, and shipping more expensive, but does come with the battery if that's important…..

    • Hmm, so it looks like Kodak are including the battery and charger when they refurb them, but then our favourite online retailer topbuy is taking them out and selling them separately (except the first 150)?

      • why doesn't that surprise me.

      • No, It has the NiMn Kodak battery & charger , plus the Li Ion battery as extra.

Got a blue one in the morning, love the red one, but was prized as $165 in the morning!

Don't forget to register the newletter, and get the $5 voucher [they send you 2x5$ & 1x10%(for $100 purchase)]

    be careful, it's misleading post.

there are fine words at the bottom of the page

    "Pristine Kodak factory refurbished."

    • agreed!

    • Can this info please be added to the original post and possibly title - either by OP or mod?

    • oh wtf i just bought one!
      dammit

  • At this price, if its been factory refurbished I've got no issues with it whatsoever. Same production quality checks, same warranty, and all in good nick. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Thanks to OP for posting.

  • These are ok for kids. But no zoom is really a killer. Plus audio quality on these is not the best.

  • Mine arrived a couple of days ago, good for spur of the moment videos! :)
