Panasonic 55" LED Full HD TV TH-55CS650A $999 @ David Jones

140

Nice Full HD 55 inch TV. Cheapest I've seen for this model by a few hundred.
Decided to buy one so now I can avoid the boxing day crush. :)
Only issue I can see is delivery was estimated at Jan 4th, hopefully will come before then.
Happy christmas.

  • Brand, size, FHD/UHD, etc. in title would be good. And maybe that it's a TV…

  • $999 for FHD is still expensive. I reckon this will be available for $799 in a days time…

Sure there'll be good discounts on boxing day and good luck with it but this is a good deal.

  • Thats pretty good deal. Thanks Trevor.

  • Haven't done a complete comparison but main differences are this is UHD 58 inch and same price. I Can't comment on picture quality etc as i don't own one. Just a heads up for people shopping for a new TV.

      Everyone calm down…
      Original title was updated from "TH-55CS650A $999 minus 6% cashrewards = $940".

      So all is good.

PS. You can check the revisions in the conveniently labelled "Revisions" tab up top…

      • True..Its Merry Xmas :-)

  • At first I didn't post many details - assumed people would search on the model number. Live and learn.
So I should have mentioned it's the a smart tv, dual tuner, 100hz, premium Super Bright Panel Plus.

    Better quality than no-name brands.
Anyway got my AUD AUD 59.94 Cashrewards email, and 1998 Amex points, so it's only costing me $925 including delivery :)

    • it is 50Hz + motion

      • yeah thats pretty slow by today's standards, most FHD should be at least 100Hz refresh? looks like this is an outdated model from couple years back on runout??

        • It is not outdated, but it is a cheaper model.

went to have a look on the website it says native 100Hz and these were released in May so still pretty current until next years models in May. My FHD panel is still alive and kicking after quite a few years so will probably upgrade to OLED 4k panel when they get cheaper. Looks like this is a great deal.

        • @RedKelah:
          Native 100hz = 50hz + motion.
OLED is the best choice but it is so expensive:(

  • Specs from Panasonic site say panel is "100Hz BMR IFC (Native 100Hz)"
Didn't see any flicker when browsing recently.

    • Native 100hz = 50hz +motion

  • If only I could find stock of this beastie of a deal . :(
    http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/pana-55-uhd-…

    • what a deal :(

    • Fake prices they never had them in stock since day 1

  • Saw it on display 55cs650A and 55cs610A . Had them play a full HD bluray movie and must say the image quality is poor. Fast action scenes had lot of judder and there is no 24p support.

Also only HDMI 1.4 does not have hdmi 2.0 and the smart TV OS was very slow. This is a 2015 model not sure why they didnt include the firefox?

The finish of the frame is very cheap looking, infact very similar to the cheap chinese models like soniq and changdong. I am very suspicious that Panasonic is rebranding these TVs from low end chinese manufacturers

Verdict is Better to buy a Hisense 4K TV for same price, these panasonic models are very poor.

  • Ended up purchasing this from Dick Smith (we needed a new one fast after the unexpected death of our 6yr old 46" Samsung) Total price $1049 including 2 yr extended warranty.
Am so glad we did………had seen the Hi-sense 4K 58" on display at TGG however does not come anywhere near the quality for free to air tv. The twin tuner on this one was also a big win.

    • U should've gotten the Panasonic 4K UHD TV CX640A 55 inch which was going for $1045 in the same period u bought this.

      • Yeah…If only I had a mirror ball at the time of purchase :(
