  • Perfectly embodies the spirit of Christmas. You can literally paint the town red.

  • Gamespot "the worst reviewed games of 2015" bit on this game: https://youtu.be/Kvmn7aRfc2I?t=9m53s

    • Lol, Gamespot. The leading cesspool of bought critics and media studies dropouts in the gaming industry.

I'm not saying Carmageddon is beyond criticism (it was terrible when it came out) but did you actually follow that 45-second, barely coherent coverage they gave Carmageddon: Reincarnation? (Starts at 10:00 in the above link if anyone's curious) Most of which was hysterical whining about the gore from some Anita Sarkeesian stand-in.

They're solely taking issue with the violence and gore and the well-publicised, poor performance at launch. It's now a completely different game after the most recent patches.

They haven't even played it for shit's sake and the footage they're showing is from the beta.
Extremely typical for gaming "journalists" though, so it's entirely expected.

      • I think you mean IGN. Gamespot has been quite reliable over the last few years. They had issues back in '08 when they gave GTA 4 a 10/10 months prior to release. Gamespot was very transparent when it came to their Siege review which was a nice change.

Does it matter? Look at the video linked above. Who considers that anything resembling a legitimate, objective review? It's clearly a parody at best.

Gaming journalism has always been a joke to be clear, but Gamespot is the one mouth-piece that has actually been caught red-handed engaging in this type of paid-for editorialising.

Not that I haven't seen the exact same, awfully-convenient, glowing reviews from other gaming opinion pieces; like I said, they're all spineless, lazy and wholly derivative and unoriginal, as are the games they review for the most part.

Gamespot reviews I'll never take seriously. Sure the game probably isn't great. But they love drawing attention to themselves with very out of touch reviews. I recall one for skyward sword where the guy couldn't work out how the control scheme so canned it the whole time. Idiots. Nintendo even responded showing him how to use the wii mote.

As above they were caught out, so that's enough for me.

The same reviewer also gave Last of Us a notably lower score than average too. I'm sure he's got a promotion too :)

Reincarnation is terrible. As much as I love Carma 1 & 2, this version is just really, really, horrible. The car disintegrates on impact of anything and it's really really hard to t-bone anyone, which is in stark contrast to 1 & 2.. Vlad, the drag car, literally just spins around in circles.. For me, this is probably the biggest regret purchase I've ever had..

I sit there and try to enjoy it, but.. I can't.. and I dunno what the devs see in it.. It's not a fun game.
