  • Any good uses for this thing?

    • just updated in the description from their advs.
I don't have one so don't know how to use or how effective.

  • As been mentioned in previous Zapals deals, Aliexpress sells all of these 'free + postage' products much cheaper than Zapals.

If this is the product then Aliexpress are doing it for US$1.40 or US$1.74 delivered - not sure which one until Zapals provides a link.

Even though thats the case, I think zapals has been pretty generous and supportive of the ozbargain community of late, dosent hurt to return the support

        Umm how?

The purpose of this site is to find bargains and these Zapals deals can be had cheaper elsewhere making these daily deals nothing more than spam…

I admit the free + free postage deals are bargains and they should be posted, but we don't need to share these other 'deals' every day.

Cheaper else where is not always the best place to purchase your product.

          @Sevenofnine:

Don't misunderstand me, I wasn't talking against you for posting this. There is just no valid deal to be had with Zapals and I see it as spam. I'm not sure what your point is though, this is all made in the same place just with different sellers. Cheap Chinese junk.

If I can buy something for $3 with free postage from one seller, or I can have it given to me for free I just have to pay $3 postage, where is the deal when it's the same outlay to me? That's what these guys are doing and it's spam on a bargain site.

But in the first line of your post you make the comment "These are obviously not "free" but it is the best price I found." Now someone finds it cheaper and you change your tune???

        • @PBG: got me there… I didn't search on aliexpress… I'll change the description.

    • I know some people are championing aliexpress for their cheapest price… but please do some review before recommending to the ozbargain community, google "aliexpress.com review" if you still think you should.

you need to understand how aliexpress work, hover your mouse over the advs. and you'll see what I mean. They're essential the middle man for all these random seller with all ramdom badges and diamonds rating.

I'm not sure what your point is? AliExpress is just like eBay. Lots of sellers all at the one place. I'm sure there are some dodgy sellers but I've bought 54 things in the past 18 months and everything has arrived and worked as described.

Yeah saying aliexpress is dodgey is like saying Don't buy anything in Sydney, I once had a meal there & it was awful.

Aliexpress is quite good, some of the sellers aren't up to scratch. But don't buy from aellers who don't have lots of positive reviews from customers in countries like Aus/N

        This is OzBargain, right?

but please do some review before recommending to the ozbargain community

Mate, Aliexpress is rock solid. I've ordered 100+ items in the past 3 years without problems through their portal (it's just like eBay, JD, Amazon etc). If you do your seller checks just like you would with eBay you are going to be fine. The handful of times that a parcel is lost I have been refunded as per the normal course of trade and sometimes even the parcel arrives after the refund.

google "aliexpress.com review" if you still think you should
you need to understand how aliexpress work

If you have to google Aliexpress then I think it is you who doesn't understand Aliexpress. Believe me, I am 110% aware of how Aliexpress works.

They're essential the middle man for all these random seller with all ramdom badges and diamonds rating.

Zapals dropships anyway… or are you foolish enough to believe Zapals produces and ships these items from their own warehouse?

And lastly, Zapals has ridiculous T&Cs like this ** No refund, return or exchange *Order cannot be cancelled once confirmed which Aliexpress has nothing of the sort. I think we should ask why you are championing Zapals…

All I am saying is that you can't just recommend people to go to aliexpress or ebay because you can find cheaper produce there.

they are selling/shopping portal, you should recommend the seller, as we all agreed not all seller are "up to scratch" .

@Sevenofnine: So if I find a product on eBay cheaper I cannot recommend people visit eBay?

I think I understand your point of view, but you must realise that Alibaba provides the assurances when buying on Aliexpress, not the seller. If something doesn't show up you are not at risk. Just like eBay/PayPal. The riskiness of the underlying Aliexpress seller doesn't really matter. Plus all Aliexpress sellers are not the manufacturers anyway - just like Zapals. Everyone dropships everything. Same product. Same manufacturer. Same China Post. So if it comes down to transactional security then I would put my money with Alibaba (the biggest online business in the world) vs Zapals (who?).

          Rant over :)

I read this whole thread and still have no idea what this thing does. I think I will concentrate on the room full of crap I have which I actually know what it is

    • it lets you use your smartphone to find your lost keys/car/kids.

  • I could only find a few vendors on aliexpress with price maybe 15c cheaper including shipping. They all had less than 6 orders in the last 6 months. I've ordered one from zapals, seems the better risk to me.

    • What risk do you think exists? That you will lose money or that you won't receive your item?

      • every time you but 'remotely' there is a risk it won't turn up. For a small item/amount like this it's just the hassle, after 8 weeks and it hasn't arrived, what do you do: buy another, make a claim of write it off ?

        • I would always make the claim. That's why I like buying through aliexpress, they are like eBay/PayPal and refund your credit card immediately.

I would be wary if a Zapals item didn't show though, their terms specifically say no refunds and its up to them to refund you, without going through the hassle of a credit card charge back. Plus if you look at the other Zapals deals then you'll see plenty of OzBargainers didn't receive their goods yet.

Anyway, risk is an individual thing. I'm just saying that I feel ordering through Zapals is far more risky than ordering through aliexpress

        • @PBG:

fair enough. I've done at least 1 chargeback thru paypal, whereas I've never done it on aliexpress.

  • Similar price on Ebay (with cashback) - eg item 291631314958 & 181940933847 & 252020093544 (White - US$1.95).

For what it's worth, mine arrived in the post today. In a small post pack with integrated bubble wrap protection, and in a retail box. Battery was 100% (according to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sylvek.itr…) so all good. The instructions included a link to an app called "iTracing" hosted on "lenovomm.com" which appears to be exactly the same as this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.antilos…. Neither app (iTracing or iTracing2) appear to be all that great, so happy to accept suggestions…. ;-)
