  • FYI, this is for new services. Existing customers can receive the credit too if they start a new service on their current account.

I wouldn't use Spintel even if it was free.

      I totally agree.
Worst costumer service i ever dealt with.
I had to tell them what to do they have no idea.
They told me that have no contract no sign up fee but manage to charge me over 50 for connecting my phone.
Had to quit because they have no ports on the exchange but can offer me mobile internet that was more expensive and only 10G or 12 months contract if they connect me with telstra.
      No thanks

They'd have to pay me to use S#%&Tel..

  • Ive heard their internet service isn't great .. but have been a mobile customer for over a year and its cheap as chips and never had a problem contacting support (via chat) if i wanted something looked into.

    • Ive heard their internet service isn't great

I can assure you that's true, and that's from personal experience. They only give a rat's a**e when you haul them to the TIO.

Run in the opposite direction. Literally two weeks after I signed up, they changed the T&C on the "Flexible" plan so that everytime you want to be flexible, it costs you $5. Then you have to give them 30 days notice to churn. I am leaving them in a few days and switching to Telstra prepaid.

    • If they change the terms of the contract wouldn't you have a clause whereby you can terminate the agreement without the required notice?

      • Probably in tht T&C that they can change things without notice. Every company writes their agreement which you tick to be in their favour as much aspossible.

  • Are you sure referral will stack on this promo?

  • Wow I thought Spintel were quite loved here. Now everyone's talking about them like they talk about Vaya.
    So.. who's worse?

    • Equally bad.

    • When you're comparing crap with crap, nobody wins.

  • I'm on Spintel for mobile and perfectly happy with it. It's the best value deal on the market for my needs (4gb data and not lots of call/SMS)

  • I'm just gonna add to the people already saying it - do not sign up with Spintel. They may be cheap but it just isn't worth it. Their speeds in my area are awful and their customer service is so impossible to contact that I had to go through the TIO just to cancel my internet with them.
After that they continued to bill me for internet anyway, luckily I had taken advice from many other ex-customers on Whirlpool and blocked them from debiting my bank account. Then a few months later their debt collectors started sending me threatening letters about the internet bills I wasn't paying.

Absolute F-ing joke of an ISP.

  • As a former Spintel ADSL customer, I'm warning you to steer clear from them.
Between 6PM to 12AM, I am certain that my ADSL speed was capped from 5 Mbps to just 1.5 to 2 Mbps.
Youtube is very slow and unplayable quite often. Definitely capped on purpose.

I was charged an extra fee for a 30 day notice to terminate ADSL service. It's an absolute bullzhaeet!

Steer clear please. If you don't, you'll just be inviting more problems in your life.

It's sad though. They used to be very good when they were Comcen. Now they're just rubbish.
