Saw this early Christmas present on Facebook and thought it would be great to share on this site.
Post from their Facebook page;
"On Tuesday 22 December our Melbourne Central store opens and to celebrate we’re launching a Free Burger Zone! There’s free burgers for all comers from 12pm - 2pm on Tuesday, with the Mr Burger, Mr Veg and the new fangled Mr Chicken completely 100% free."

Location;
"We’re located opposite the State Library of Victoria Lawn, on the corner of Swanston and Latrobe Streets and can’t wait to serve you lots of burgers late into the night this already very balmy Summer."

  My work had a Mr Burger van at our christmas party and I found them really… standard.

  Ive only heard good things about them, but average is how Id describe them. The chips were good though.

    I had one from the van near Vic market and wasn't impressed either. Would agree that the chips were good, maybe they should change their business to Mr Chips?

    Everyone says their chips are the best… Hmm

    They're not bad, but nothing amazing. You'd be a lot better off going to 8 bit which just opened 500m away (corner of Swanston and Lt Bourke)

    Yeah I cheaped out the first time I went there and got the "Mr Burger", and I'd have to agree.

    The next few times I had the "Mr Meat" and totally understand it now. It easily shits all over the Mighty Melbourne at Grill'd, in which it's really hard to get any bacon flavour.

    I think it's at the very edge of Melb Central, where the hot dog stand was, actoss the street from HJ's

      Yes, it is replacing the Snag Stand, which closed a few weeks ago.

  Considering the amount of foot traffic around there I imagine that if you get there after 12:30 you'll be in line til after 2pm.

  I walked past this store today. I'll be very surprised if it's ready for opening on Tuesday. It looked barely 50% complete.

    It was already a shop selling food, I don't think there's as much to do as you might think. It's going from Snags to Burgers.

    I walk past there regularly & have seen the renovation happening, it won't take long.

    Agreed. Line moved only 10m in 10 minutes. I think at that stage I wouldn't have gotten to the front even at 2pm.

  I got there at 11:50 and the line was already up to where the old cba used to be. 0 movement and I can't even see any burgers being cooked. Actually this morning when I got to work they were still finishing up the fit outs didn't think it would be ready for mass free burgers… completely not worth it unless you just another kiddo in the cbd wasting your time walking around aimlessly.

  Lined up a few minutes before 12pm. Got the burgers at around 1:15. Kudos to the team of like 9 in a confined space pulling this one off

  Damn, that line was huge! Luckily I went at 11am to Mason Dixon because I had a Scoopon and had a Cubuano, Mr Burger would have been my second lunch, but the line was so long I took one look and gave up. I even saw a tourist take a photo of the line.
